W.A.C.I.LA. junior wins Greyhound SelectionsI the inaugural Andy Fanowrios scholarship Frank Norton, a member of the West Australian Catholic Lawn Tennis Association and a St. Marks player, has won the inaugural Andy Fanowrios junior memorial scholarship. It was fitting that an association member should win the inaugural award as the late Andy Fanowrios was a prominent W.A.C.L.T.A. cornmittee member. His prizes total more than $200 in value and include tennis clothing, and equipment, sponsorship in ,a number of State tournaments and specialist coaching.

THE OBJECT

The scholarship was established by the Alexander Park Tennis Club, of which Mr. Fanowrios was resident coach, as a memorial to him with the object of fostering junior players. Funds were raised in various ways, including an exhibition in which visiting Australian and overseas • players took part. It is hoped that juniors with the ability and qualities of Andy Fanowrios will be thus ento develop couraged comparable skills for the betterment of tennis in this State.
