ST. PETER'S SQUARE, ROME. Rome for most pilgrims, wil l be the highlight of their 32 days in Europe. To see Rome for Catholics, wil l in itself, fulfil a dream of a lifetime, however, The Record in planning your tour, has given you Rome for Easter. Four days in the heart of Catholicism at the most moving time of the Church year can only be capped by an Audience with the Holy Father. This, too, has been arranged by The Record. Our aim is to give the Catholics of Perth a chance to realise the dream of a lifetime by giving them a pilgrimage and a tour they will never forget. On the morning of April 19th, 1973, we will leave the beautiful Italian Riviera resort of Rapallo. Heading south, a two hour drive will see us in Pisa. After lunch we will again follow the Via Aurelia with the blue Mediterranean always present on our right. About 5.00 p.m. we will arrive in Rome. As we enter the outskirts of the Eeternal City, the great dome of St. Peter's will welcome us. Good Friday, April 20th, 1973. Our first day in Rome. This morning we will have a first look at Rome. The places of interest are too numerous to mention, however, during the morning tour some of the highlights will be the Roman Forum, The Colosseum, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Borghese Gardens. In the afternoon we will go to St. Peter's for the Good Friday Stations of thei Cross.
Saturday, April 21st, 1973. Today you are free. Some may take advantage of a free day to rest up. Others wil l not want to miss one sight of this fascinating city, and of course, the shops are always popular. This afternoon, those who wish, wi l l have the opportunity to travel along the Appian Way and use the Catacombes of St. Bebastian. Sunday, 22nd April, 1973. Easter Sunday. This morning we will attend Mass a t St. Peter's and be present when the Pope takes the Angelus at midday. For those who wish, the afternoon can be spent exploring St. Peter's Vatican and the nearby area. Monday, 23rd April, 1973. For those who wish, today we have arranged an optional trip to Naples, Capri and Pompei and in the evening, the beautiful Tivoli Gardens with their 1000 fountains which never fail to please. Tuesday, 24th April. Today we leave Rome, but not before we have an audience with the Pope. And so we end our stay in Rome and four of the most memorable days of your life.
