VATICANCITY,Jan.30.-ThePope'sradioaddresstothesix-nationBolivarianEucharisticCongress, whichclosedto-dayatCali,Colombia,wasanexhortation torenewalofChristianlifeand"particularlytoreChristianisationofyourfamiliesbymeansoftheEucharist"Theentirediscoursewasdevotedtofamilylife, thethemeoftheCongress,andtotheEucharistasthe meansofsupplyingitsneeds,perfectingitsrelationships, andcrowningitspurposesasintendedbyGod.

'Therearefewneedsto-day," theHolyFathersaid,"sourgent asstrengtheningtheChristian family;fewsoincapableof postponementastheimprovementandwelfareofthisnatural fontoflife,iftheveryexistence ofhumanityistobesavedand ifitslossofthefruitsoftheredemptionistobeaverted."

ThePontiffpraisedtheereceonoftheEucharisticShrineat Caliandtheplacingonitofthe coatsofarmsofthesixnations, which,hesaid,indicatesadeterminationevertoseekpeaceand agreementbetweenyournations or,thefoundatonofChristian brotherhood. Healsolauded choiceofCaliasthesiteof theEucharisticCongress,calling it"thesmilingflowerofthevalleyofCauca,thebeautifulCali, whichwasthefirstplaceinall ColombiawherePerpetualAdorationwasestablished.",

TheHolyFatherlikenedthe familytothefundamentalarch ofhumansociety,adomeorcupolacrowningthewholeedifice ofcreation,andsaidthatits unity,indissolubilityandtranscendentalpurposesareto-dayin danger.

Speakingofthefamily'squasidivinemissionoftransmitting andenkindlnglife,thePope glowinglydescribedtheEucharistasthemysteryofdivinelove whichassiststhefamilytothe sublimeheightsofitspurpose"to filltheearthwithchildrenof Godinwhosechild-likespeech theOmnipotent,EternalFather mayrecognisethevoiceofHis OwnDivineSon."Transformed andincorporatedwithChristby meansoftheEucharist,hecontinued,"themembersofthe Christianfamilyarealreadyin possessonofthatprinciplewhich willmakethemradiatetheir sanctifyinginfluenceinthehome andinthechurch."

TheYellowBookcontainsa photostatofthePrimate's"confession"inwhichtheCardinal allegedlyassertsthatMonsignor Horvathhadaddressedtqhimin thelatterpartofJanuary,1947, aconfidentialreportgivingdetailsofaninterviewsupposedto havetakenplacebetweenDecember12and14,1946,with OttoofHapsburg.InthisinterviewOttoallegedlyoutlined toMonsignorHorvaththepossibilityofarestorationofthe monarchy.Thissamestatement was,accordingtoreports,confirmedbytheCardinalinthe courseofthetrialinBudapest Inhisoutrightdenial,Msgr. CardinalMindszenty's"trial," itispointedouthere,wasthoroughlyRussian,resemblingthe notoriousMoscow"confession" trialsinalmosteverydetail.The "trial"ofArchbishopStepinassin Zagrebetasinthenatureofshe Russiantrials,buthadaJugoslavtouchhereandthere.Not sotheCardinalMindszenty'ass.

Vishinsky,nowdeputyForeign MinisterofSovietRussia,startedhisrisetonotorietythrough hishandlingoftheMoscow"con fession"trialsinwhichhewas chiefprosecutor.Heistheacceptedmasterofthistechnique. Hehasnotbeenheardofin Russiaforatime.Then,just beforetheMindszentytrial,he wassuddenlyreportedtoheina sanitariuminKarlsbad,Czechoslovakia.Thisisnotbelieved becauseMoscowwouldnotlet anyofficialwitha"breakdown" leaveRussia.Hemighttalk.

TheInternationalReliefCommitteeofChinareceived3,000 dollarsforitsdirectwelfare work,theNationalAnti-TuberculosisAssociationwasgiven 2,000dollars,andtheNational Students'ReliefCommitteealso received2,000dollarsforitsprojectofmedicalaidtostudents.

TheNationalAnti-T.B.AssociationofChina,organisedearly lastyear,hasalreadysetup18 localgroupsinChinesecities.It sponsorsclinics,distributeshealth literature,andorganisesmass chestexaminationswithfollowupwork.

Itisestimatedthatthreeper sonsdieeveryminuteoftuberculosisinChina.About20,000,000 personshaveactiveT.B,althoughonlyabout3,000hospitalbedsareavailableinallChina fortuberculouspatients.
