Bernard Foundation have shared their generosity with Archbishop Hoban High School through their dollarfor-dollar scholarship match. This year’s challenge is to match $75,000! Since the passing of Ralph Sr. and Florence, their children Mr. Ralph Bernard Jr. (class of 1962) and Mrs. Regina Dain have continued this legacy. Over the past 15 years the Bernard family, along with our thoughtful and kind-hearted Extravaganza guests, have raised more than $1.6 million for student scholarships and financial assistance.

Dear Hoban Family, Welcome to Hoban’s 37th annual Extravaganza, LIVE AT THE DISCO! It has been two years since we last held a traditional Extravaganza, and we are incredibly excited to welcome you to campus for this one-of-a-kind celebration. This evening will truly be a night to remember!

Since 1953, Hoban has prepared students for the rigors of postsecondary education and the challenges of adulthood. Our mission as a Catholic, Holy Cross school is to educate the hearts and minds of students, so they develop the competence to see and the courage to act.

Part of our mission as a Catholic school is to keep tuition affordable so that the Hoban experience remains accessible for all. We appreciate our families’ financial sacrifice to provide their children with a Hoban education. Still, tuition revenue alone does not cover the costs associated with educating more than 800 students.

Extravaganza gives Hoban the “extra” leverage to provide our Knights with vital financial and material resources, sustains academic programming and daily operations and helps us keep tuition as low as possible. Your support is the advantage we need to give our students the life-changing gift of a Hoban education.

The Ralph L. and Florence A. Bernard Foundation continues its tradition of providing a matching gift to help raise scholarship monies. This year’s challenge is to match $75,000! At the end of the night, we ask you to raise your paddle to help exceed the $150,000 goal for student scholarships and financial assistance.

In requesting this special consideration, I am very mindful of the generosity, charity and giving spirit offered by so many to make Extravaganza successful. I look forward to sharing the evening with you and continuing to make an impact in the lives of our students.

The Ralph L. & Florence A. Bernard Foundation

and other benefactors support the Extravaganza Challenge Scholarship Match Since 2004, the Bernard Family and the Ralph L. & Florence A. Bernard Foundation have annually shared their friendship and generosity with an Extravaganza Challenge Scholarship Match. This challenge originated with Mr. Ralph L. Bernard Sr. who passed away in 2009 at the age of 94. For eight days and seven nights, you’ll stay in a private Creole-style luxury 3-bedroom villa in the exclusive hills of Pointe Milou and have spectacular sunset views over the Caribbean Sea. Relax in the infinity pool with panoramic vistas overlooking Marigot Bay. St. Barth is the Caribbean destination of choice for some of the world’s most influential individuals. St. Barth holidays have a sophisticated edge that you simply don’t get anywhere else. There is a sophisticated French cultural and gastronomic delight that infuses St. Barth vacations. After securing the paper, heelball (a very hard wax) is rubbed vigorously over the paper surface to get an exact copy of the brass plate.
