Our practice predominantly covers the South-West of England, including Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Southampton, and Winchester areas. Style: Contemporary Size: 9233 sq.ft Set in one of the world’s most enviable locations, this home by ARC is a testament to design innovation that respects and complements its extraordinary natural setting. Positioned on a prime corner plot, the residence commands breathtaking views of Poole Bay and Brownsea Island Castle. Surrounded by lush trees with Poole Harbour at its garden’s edge, this home is a serene retreat, where ARC has blended luxury living with the tranquillity of nature.

Our vision for this project was to seamlessly integrate the residence with its environment. The use of lightweight architecture gives the house an ethereal presence, as if floating within the surrounding woodland. Extensive glass panes ensure panoramic views of the bay, creating a symbiotic relationship between the indoors and the outdoors. The selection of materials like stone and bronze is a deliberate nod to nature’s color palette, allowing the house to exist in a respectful and harmonious dialogue with its landscape.

The residence extends over 9,000 sq.ft, offering ample space that epitomizes elegance and comfort. It is equipped with an array of leisure facilities, catering to a luxurious lifestyle. A distinctive feature is the innovative boat house, which doubles as a sophisticated entertaining space on the water, offering an exceptional seaside living experience.

The design also incorporates a central water feature within the home, an architectural element that enhances the aesthetic appeal and creates a fluid connection between the interior spaces and the lush surroundings.

QUEEN ANNE HOUSE

Style: Traditional Size: 12,000 sq.ft Nestled in the esteemed area of Canford Cliffs in Poole, this three-acre wooded estate demanded a design that embodies quality and grandeur. Responding to our client’s vision, ARC Architects crafted an authentic Queen Anne Classical style residence that is a paragon of elegance and symmetry.

The design’s cornerstone is the faithful replication of the Queen Anne Classical style’s proportions, which are instrumental in achieving a convincing classical aesthetic.

The residence stands proudly, its stately facade a testament to the timeless elegance of this architectural period.

Exterior features such as traditional sash windows, a hipped roof with dormers, and a grand portico entrance are all carefully proportioned to adhere to the historical accuracy of the Queen Anne style.

The use of period-appropriate materials and construction techniques further reinforces the authenticity of the design.

Within, the residence boasts ceiling heights of approximately 3 meters, typical of a house from this period, lending each room a sense of openness and grandeur. The spacious interiors are designed to allow for an abundance of natural light, enhancing the intricate detailing and craftsmanship that define the Queen Anne style.

Style: Contemporary Size: 4,122 sq.ft In an idyllic woodland setting, elevated to embrace expansive views, lies Birchlands, a four-acre estate designed by ARC Architects. Overlooking Avon Castle, the River Stour, and the rolling countryside, this site called for a design that is both sensitive to its context and assertive in its architectural statement.

The design of Birchlands is a testament to ARC’s commitment to environmental harmony. Natural materials have been selected with precision, allowing the house to nestle seamlessly into the landscape. This approach blurs the boundaries between the built form and nature, creating a dialogue where architecture and the environment enhance one another.

The residence, with a generous floor area of 4122 sq.ft, is a celebration of modern design principles rooted in the

context of its surroundings. The use of glass and stone draws the eye outward to the stunning vistas, while the organic forms and materials echo the natural setting. The house’s position, perched above the Avon Castle and the Stour, provides a vantage point that is both commanding and respectful, offering panoramic views that connect the occupants to the verdant countryside.

Style: Traditional Size: 17,000 sq.ft Located in one of Dorset’s most idyllic settings with vistas spanning Parkstone Golf Course and stretching to Poole Harbour, the House of Canford Cliffs stands on a substantial plot that demanded a design of distinction.

ARC Architects was tasked with creating a residence that would be both a nod to its prestigious surroundings and a beacon of luxury living.

Drawing from the venerable traditions of French and English architecture, the design features rich detailing and meticulous attention to historical authenticity. The façade is clad in local Portland Stone and handmade Swanage bricks, presenting an imposing yet elegant exterior. A mitred hipped slate roof crowns the structure, lending an air of classical sophistication.

The residence encompasses over 17,000 sq.ft of luxurious living space. Beyond the standard amenities, the estate boasts both indoor and outdoor pools, a cinema, a games room, and wellness areas including a sauna, Turkish bath, and gym. The connoisseur’s delight, a wine cellar, is thoughtfully included. The living accommodations are 32

expansive, featuring multiple reception rooms and five bedrooms, ensuring privacy and comfort. A detached fivecar garage and a pool house serve not only as functional spaces but also enhance the property’s grandeur.

The Lawrence Estate is designed with entertainment and leisure at its forefront. An expansive basement houses a variety of entertainment options, providing a year-round venue for relaxation and social gatherings. Outdoors, the home is equally impressive, with meticulously designed entertainment spaces that invite alfresco activities. From the pool house to the outdoor terraces, each space is crafted to provide an immersive experience that befits the home’s stunning backdrop.

Style: Contemporary Size: 5,500 sq.ft The client’s aspirations met our architectural expertise to sculpt a space that epitomizes both functionality and contemporary elegance. The design challenge was to strike a harmony between the home’s modernist appeal and the sylvan charm of its setting.

Distributed over three levels, the structure cascades down the hillside, effortlessly integrating into the wooded landscape. The material palette was chosen with sensitivity to the locale; locally sourced Purbeck stone anchors the building to its Dorset roots, while timber effect cladding and expansive glass reflect the home’s modernist ethos.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing is a defining feature, inviting the picturesque country views into every room and bathing the interior in natural light. The architectural design is meticulous in ensuring that the vistas are not mere backdrops, but active participants in the daily experience of the home.

Style: Traditional Size: 9,750 sq.ft In the heart of the New Forest, the Sway Georgian Manor stands as a jewel in the countryside, designed to complement its pastoral surroundings. Crafted by ARC Architects, this 9,750 sq.ft residence embodies the essence of Georgian elegance while offering the comforts of modern living.

Our design for this manor draws inspiration from the timeless Georgian architecture, known for its symmetry and classic proportions. With a keen attention to detail, we have created a home that not only respects its historical roots but also provides the modern amenities expected in a luxury estate.

The manor features an array of facilities to cater to a lavish lifestyle. At its heart lies a large indoor pool complex, offering year-round leisure. The presence of a private tennis court adds to the exclusive feel of the property, allowing for both entertainment and fitness.

Style: Traditional Size: 9,750 sq.ft ARC Architects embarked on an architectural journey, exploring various design iterations before settling on a final design that perfectly encapsulated the client’s vision.

Initially, they explored Mediterranean and French NeoClassical concepts, each offering unique allure with their regional warmth, rustic charm, grandeur, and symmetry.

These designs aimed to maximize the breathtaking clifftop views.

The final design, a contemporary Mediterraneaninfluenced style, emerged as the perfect fit. This style harmoniously blended contemporary minimalism, and the Mediterranean style, utilizing natural materials and fostering a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The final design showcases a penchant for open, light-filled spaces, characteristic of contemporary Mediterranean architecture. The house features a large indoor swimming pool, an expansive garage, and an annex that includes a home office and gym, all blending effortlessly into the coastal landscape. The design offers a tranquil retreat with a wrap-around patio and an infinity pool that merges with 56

the horizon. The two-bedroom annex provides privacy and comfort, complementing the main house.

The project’s sustainable approach is evident in its construction, partly using SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels), sedum roofs, photovoltaic panels, and air source heat pumps. The design not only captures the essence of contemporary Mediterranean architecture but also maximizes the panoramic potential of the surrounding context. It stands as a sanctuary and a viewpoint to the world beyond, fulfilling the client’s desire for a home that makes the most of the spectacular location and panoramic coastal views, from the Isle of Wight to Studland.
