“Everything repeats and everything changes…
Recently I have been thinking of transitions, sequences, and spectrums (movement through space, passage through time, progression from sketch to resolution, shifts in color or tone, ranges of styles/ materials/scale, and on and on) so instead of a grand display of narrative paintings I wanted to pause and create a small sampling of different types of work which would beat the persistent drum of repetition and change and would together convey how I see things. A small collection of possibly seemingly disparate pieces that echo and shift and explain that my work is “this and this and this”. Hopefully vulnerable, occasionally sardonic, beautiful, intimate, and incomplete.” Read 2022
