Our farm just celebrated its 60th anniversary last year.

What is your involvement in the MN Breeders?

I go to and support the Fall Fest show, and we have stallions that we put in the program.

Why should one attend the MN Breeders Futurity over other futurities? What do you feel separates this program from others?

The MN Breeders Futurity has always been very strong and still maintains its strength.

If you were to tell a newcomer about the MN Breeders, what would you tell them, and why would you encourage them to get involved?

That it is and always has been a great program. The show is well run, a lot of fun, and you can earn bonus money.

If you could change one thing about the MN Breeders, what would it be?

A great program such as this requires no changes.

What incentive is there for small breeders to be involved with the MN Breeders Futurity program?

I think it’s the same as it is for larger breeders; it’s a good program because it helps with the marketability of horses they are raising and there is a great payback benefit.

We have been involved since the 1990’s ... Board Member, Vice President, Stallion Auction chair and the Mare Nomination clearing house for a number of years.

We also compete at the show and donate our stallions to the Auction.

Auction proceeds allow for the show to function and contribute to future prize money. Do you like how the yearling auction classes are run or would you like to see any changes?

We wouldn’t change anything, nor do we have any ideas for changing it.

Conway Arabians has won the Leading Breeder Award many times.

If you were to tell a newcomer about the MN Breeders, what would you tell them, and why would you encourage them to get involved?

We would tell them this show is a great opportunity to win substantial prize money and have fun doing it.

We would also encourage anyone interested in breeding to check out the stallion line-up and bid on one or more stallions.

Why should one attend the MN Breeders Futurity over other futurities? What do you feel separates this program from others?

MAHB is the original Futurity program, that all the others were modeled after. It is strictly an all-amateur program and caters to all divisions with an incredible amount of prize money available for halter and performance classes.

What incentive is there for small breeders to be involved with the MN Breeders Futurity program?

The majority of all the winners are small breeders!

The prize money that can be awarded in one weekend is incredible! It is a fun show with a great atmosphere and good competition. Horses that are nominated to compete at this show are much more marketable too.

If you could change one thing about the MN Breeders, what would it be?

We wish it was not on top of the halter show in AZ. It is unfortunate that they have to overlap each other, as we miss seeing that group of trainers and their amazing horses in MN.

eading the way for 38 years and still going strong! For all those years we are still the only all-amateur futurity. Our success has been built on our continued commitment to integrity, passion and competitiveness.

We want you to feel welcome at our show so Minnesota Breeders sponsor a daily snack bar as well as lunches on Friday and Saturday.

Always looking to expand our performance classes, we have made it possible for more performance horses to be registered in our program, and we have added new performance classes.

On Saturday we will judge the Auction Colt and the Auction Filly classes in the Coliseum, but only announce the final five in each class. At the end of the classes, the five colts and five fillies will be brought to the Compeer Arena (site of our Auction) and the winners will be pinned. This gives everyone a chance to see these beautiful youngsters up close!

A complimentary dinner will follow immediately after the announcement of the winning colt and filly. And that will be followed by our live Stallion Service Auction.

This is my first year putting our stallion, Prosuasion, in the program. I am excited for the opportunity this gives a breeder to take advantage of Prosuasion’s sought-after pedigree, and to be supportive of the MN Breeders Futurity.

I am a newcomer as well, and would encourage any and all to get involved in the MN Breeders. Although I am just beginning to learn about the program, I do believe it is one more way to promote and grow our amazing breed and that is always a good thing. The people are wonderful too!

Members of our family are or have been actively involved on the board of directors. We also participate by showing at the Minnesota Fall Fest and supporting the activities surrounding the show preparation and operation of the show.

Why should one attend the MN Breeders Futurity over other futurities? What do you feel separates this program from others?

The Minnesota Futurity was first and foremost set up by a group of breeders who wished to perpetuate the quality of the Arabian horse. Although other futurities have come into existence, the strong family core values that were originally set up are still present in the Minnesota organization.

What incentive is there for small breeders to be involved with the MN Breeders Futurity program?

The MAHB Futurity is the program that other futurity organizations have emulated. We have maintained respect from breeders and judges. Horses resulting from the MN

Breeders program have gone on to be regional, national and international winners. Our motto is the first and still the best.

Auction proceeds allow for the show to function and contribute to future prize money. Do you like how the yearling auction classes are run or would you like to see any changes?

I have no issue with the way classes are run.

If you were to tell a newcomer about the MN Breeders, what would you tell them, and why would you encourage them to get involved?

Because it is a smaller venue compared to other futurities, especially Scottsdale, we came up with a slogan of, “Take a chance, have a chance.� We are not the largest show, but we are a quality show. It is a good place where a newcomer can feel success.

If you could change one thing about the MN Breeders, what would it be?

I think it is a great show. I like it just the way it is.

Renee: This is our first year in the program. When we acquired Fire and Goldd, we knew that he consistently sires horses that halter and perform, so we have nominated him to several programs that offer both types of classes. We are very excited about participating in the MN Breeders auction program!

Morgan: While it is our first year being involved in the Minnesota Breeders Program, we are so excited to be part of this wonderful program in the upcoming years.

What incentive is there for small breeders to be involved with the MN Breeders Futurity program?

Renee: Beyond the obvious great prize money, the program offers small breeders an opportunity to nominate multiple mares at a very reasonable price and a return on the investment and publicity for their horses.

Morgan: Being a small breeder, it’s crucial to always keep expenses in mind. The MN Breeders program is extremely amateur-friendly and affordable, along with great payouts!

If you were to tell a newcomer about the MN Breeders, what would you tell them, and why would you encourage them to get involved?

Renee: Morgan and I are newcomers ourselves, so I would say that the financial incentives and the opportunity to showcase a great stallion like Fire and Goldd, who bridges the gap between halter and performance offspring, are very much worth the investment.

Morgan: The payouts are wonderful! One very enticing aspect is that you can nominate multiple mares for a very reasonable fee.

If you could change one thing about the MN Breeders, what would it be?

Renee: I would move it to the new World Equestrian Center here in Ocala, once it opens in 2021!

What is your involvement in the MN Breeders?

CRA is fully committed to the MAHB. We donate and purchase stallion services, attend the horse show yearly and show in both halter and performance. As a farm, all are patrons, and Lollie Ames is on the Board of Directors.

Why should one attend the MN Breeders Futurity over other futurities? What do you feel separates this program from others?

The Minnesota Breeders is a great horse show. It is an exclusive program with great paybacks, and great incentives. Along with high quality Arabians, the show is also fun and leisurely. What separates it from others is that it is a strictly purebred and amateur rider show, and every class has prize money.

What incentive is there for small breeders to be involved with the MN Breeders Futurity program?

The paybacks are enormous for breeders. You can get a great stallion service at a great price and then win that money back, plus some, in the show ring. This program promotes the breeding of high-quality purebreds and gives breeders a great opportunity the show their best, with the best.

Auction proceeds allow for the show to function and contribute to future prize money. Do you like how the yearling auction classes are run or would you like to see any changes?

The yearling Auction classes are run well, and seeing the winners be presented at the Stallion Auction is a great way to promote the prize money being awarded.

If you were to tell a newcomer about the MN Breeders, what would you tell them, and why would you encourage them to get involved?

It is a fun horse show with a great schedule and great people. There are many benefits, from the paybacks and breeding your own Minnesota Breeders foal.

If you could change one thing about the MN Breeders, what would it be?

It was implemented this year for a short time, that being open enrollment for all purebreds with a sire who has been in the program previously.
