STUDIO INTENT
KEY MAP
The study will dwelve into reading the town as a systematic entity and subsequently documenting it’s multiple layers of spatial nature and it’s historical evolution.
Design proposal of the hill will aim to encourage least environmentally invasive form of development, balance the interests of natural development of the native population and limiting it to safe carying capacity due to increasing floating population
The studio is focusing on three major theme’s for ooty-Heritage, Ecology, and Tourism

Set in the scenic valley town of Ooty, between the majestic Doddabetta peak and the serene waters of Ooty Lake, the landscape unfolds with rolling mounds and gentle slopes From the lively Commercial Street, one can take in the lush greenery of Elk Hill, Fern Hill, and Thalayathimund, each contributing to the town’s charm with their picturesque views and natural beauty.
These hills, referred to as "munds," are not only integral to Ooty’s landscape but also enhance its distinct charm and allure As the town has developed, it has adapted to the natural terrain, extending from the valley floor to higher elevations while preserving its link to the bordering reserve forest

STUDIO INTENT
The course aimed to equip urban designers with the skills needed to comprehensively approach large-scale sites, integrating ecological considerations with the design of built forms, services, and infrastructure. The studio exercise focused on the Kaliasdot Reservoir, primarily to deepen the understanding of site planning theory The study examined various factors, including ecology, urban nature, and the historical context of landscape design Additionally, key explorations involved analyzing and evaluating the existing landscape while developing design responses that addressed the site’s constraints and opportunities
