Olga Martín Calahorra, La Rioja, Spain (1960) World leader in non-thermal food processing. Pioneer in the application of electrical pulsing technology in Spain as a method of preserving liquid foods such as fruit juices and milk Doctor of Chemistry, University of Zaragoza. Vice-rector for Transfer and Promotion of Innovation and Full Professor of Food Technology, University of Lleida (UdL). Promoter of the Industrial Doctorate Programs in Spain. Director of the research group New technologies for food processing at the UdL, which develops technologies to obtain safe, healthy and attractive food. She is one of the most recognized researchers in her field worldwide: A Fellow of the Institute of Food Technologists IFT (USA, 2015) and of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology - IAFoST (2016). She has been distinguished by the ICREA Academy Program (2008) and with the Narcís Monturiol Medal (2018). Since 2019, she has presided over the European Federation of Food Science and Technology – EFFoST based in Wageningen (The Netherlands).

Rosa M. Poch Barcelona, España (1962) World expert in soil and water management. President of the FAO Intergovernmental Panel on Soils, which is dedicated to the principal global soil problems such as desertification or the impacts of climate change Agricultural Engineer, UPC; Doctor in Soil Sciences, University of Ghent (Belgium); soil scientist, Full Professor of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry in the Environment and Soil Sciences Department at the University of Lleida (UdL). She carries out her research in the Soil and Water research group of the UdL and in the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia. She investigates the genesis and micromorphology of soils, their structure and porosity, geo-archeology and the impacts of land use on soil structure and soil carbon storage. Member of the committee of experts on Climate Change in Catalonia, she chaired the Morphology and Micromorphology of Soils Commission of the International Union of Soil Sciences -IUSS- (2010 to 2018) and currently chairs the Intergovernmental Panel of soils -ITPS- of the FAO (2018-2021), a group of 27 international experts.
