Forsyth County Jewish community makes history Members of Congregation Beth Israel were joined by local officials, community leaders and the curious as renderings of the first synagogue in Forsyth County were unveiled Jan. 26. The children in attendance — who Rabbi Levi Mentz referred to as “the future of the Jewish community” — revealed the images of what will soon be their new place of prayer, study and celebration.
