Forsyth residents wait in line to cast their votes for the Jan. 5 runoff election at Midway Park last Tuesday. Local voters had a strong showing in the election with 69 percent of registered voters casting a ballot. Forsyth residents backed incumbent Republican candidates David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler at a 2-1 ratio over Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in the U.S. Senate races, but the Democrats flipped the seats in close contests.
