Audience turns DeKalb Schools town hall into public Q&A

CHAMBLEE, Ga. — The sole finalist for the DeKalb County Schools superintendent, Devon Horton, faced a string of criticism and questions from parents and community members at the first of three town halls at Chamblee High School April 12.

The Board of Education and Georgia School Boards Association selected Horton from a list of 29 candidates after a year-long search. The three town halls are part of a two-week legally required public comment period before the board can formally hire Horton for the role.
