(1) CALL the police. People lie and an insurance company will not believe you unless there is a police report documenting the wreck;
(2) COLLECT information. Take pictures of everything: your vehicle, the other vehicle, the locations of the vehicles after the wreck, the other driver’s tag and insurance information. A picture is worth a thousand words and often the car that hits you looks worse than your vehicle.
(3) CARE for yourself. Go and
see a medical professional if you feel pain or stiffness, persistent headaches, numbness or tingling going down your arms or legs, or pain in any other area of your body. If you wait to see a doctor hoping that the pain will go away or suffer in silence, an insurance company will use that against you.
