What do your think has allowed for this success so quickly after opening your practice? Dr. Taylor: “When my wife and I made the decision to move home be close to family and to open a practice that would serve our community, we knew it would be a challenging road. And it has been! But I am just so thankful for the community’s support, for my wonderful coworkers and for my patients! I was confident in my training and in my experience as a Mohs surgeon and vein care physician, but I knew that there are a lot of moving parts to a practice, some of which I knew little about. Since opening on Jan 30th 2017, we have made a lot changes and tweaks to try to make our practice a place where patients feel heard, well cared for and valued. How did you react to the news of winning both these titles? To say that I was shocked and overwhelmed with appreciation for winning “Best Vain Care” Specialist and runner up for “Best Dermatologist” in North Fulton after merely 7 months of practice here in Alpharetta is an understatement. I was and am thrilled. I hope that this means that our patients realize the depth of my dedication and that my care and concern for my patients continues past 5:00pm. As a dermatologist, how did you come to excel in the field of vein treatment? After becoming a board-certified dermatologist, I spent a fellowship year in La Jolla, California, where I was trained by a cardiothoracic surgeon and cosmetic dermatologists in the Scripps Vein Clinic while also training in Mohs surgery. I am exceptionally proud of our Best Vein Care title, as I believe that I truly do provide patients with excellent vein care services usually provided by several different specialists. I feel so
fortunate to be able to address both medically significant vein disease as well as cosmetic venous issues. I am excited to continue to provide my patients this great service. You mentioned “Mohs surgery” – dr. taylor what is it? And what does “MOHS” stand for? Mohs surgery is a special technique for removing skin cancer. The word “Mohs” isn’t an acronym. Mohs is actually named after Dr. Mohs, the surgeon who first pioneered this advanced method for curing skin cancer. With Mohs surgery, a cancer is removed in layers and examined under the microscope until it is completely gone – the technique carries a 99% cure rate for most skin cancers. As for runner up for Best Dermatologist, I never expected to be on the radar for this award so soon after opening, and I am just so glad that I have made a positive impression! I believe that my expertise in Mohs surgery likely contributed to my patients’ happiness and to this honor. Is there anything else that you would like to share? I do want to thank my staff for all their help. At Premier Dermatology and Mohs Surgery of Atlanta, we have been blessed with the most reliable, dedicated and genuine staff one could hope for: we have a team of very knowledgeable, experienced and energetic people working together. Katie began her married life as a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed raising her children until they entered college. With an empty nest and after the loss of her husband, she decided to “get out into the world again” and began her tenure as a professional, employed with an office supply company in West Virginia. “I got to travel some and as a widow, working gave me something to do,” said Katie. When her job ended and with the encouragement of her children, Katie made the decision to move in with her daughter in North Carolina. “My dear daughter worried herself to death about me, and of course, I worried about living with her!” Not wanting to be a burden, Katie decided to move closer to another daughter in Alpharetta, but not to move into her home. Senior independent living seemed the best alternative for Katie, and thankfully, her search for the perfect community didn’t last long; She became the fifth person to put down a deposit on a new construction apartment home at The Mansions at Alpharetta. Moving to The Mansions was easier than she anticipated. When asked what was the first thing she did when she moved in to her beautiful new home, Katie replied, “I got rid of my car. NORTH ATLANTA’S BIGGEST LOSER Kimberly Flowers, of Duluth, weighed 307 pounds in February of 2016 when she walked into Medical Fitness and Wellness Group of Johns Creek for a weight loss consultation. Kimberly’s primary care physician, Dr. Reshma Shah, of Perimeter North Family Medicine, advised her to start working with a personal trainer and nutritionist or consider Bariatric surgery as a last resort which Kimberly was vehemently opposed to.

At 50, Kimberly has struggled with weight issues her entire life. Other breakfast restaurants buy eggs that are bagged and cracked by a machine in advance. We clarify butter to season all of our pancake griddles and to cook all of the eggs in. Our pancake batter is made from scratch with our own sour starter. The list goes on.
