Unlock Benchmarking Insights with APPA’s FPI Program APPA’s Facilities Performance Indicators (FPI) program provides a rich dataset that helps institutions benchmark facilities data, performance, and spending against peers. APPA has been collecting facilities data through FPI for decades, making it a trusted and valuable resource for the educational facilities community. Each year, APPA members submit data to compare their latest performance with data from other institutions. Once data is collected for a given year, participants receive detailed benchmarking information to help inform planning, decisionmaking, and continuous improvement.
A Structured, Annual Benchmarking Process Each year through the FPI program, institutions submit facilities data to help strengthen benchmarking insights across the sector. Our Process: • Submit your institution’s data during APPA’s annual collection period through APPA’s Member Compass portal • APPA reviews submissions and follows up on outliers as needed • Participants gain access to benchmarking insights through the FPI reporting experience The Annual Timeline: • August–Early December (for the completed fiscal year): Data collected from participating educational facilities • December–Early January: Data reviewed by APPA staff and outliers identified • January–February (to correct data or note circumstances): Participants contacted regarding outliers • Early May of each year: Full report available FPI PROGR AM
