01. ABODE OF IKIGAI MIXED-USE HIGH RISE TOWER
A design which not only meets up with the space demands but
also meets up as well as satisfies users needs as well. Hence a
design that contributes to the upliftment of the society. Keeping
in mind the idea of enhanced community interaction, this Mixed use tower project was incorporated with the concept
of a high street market floor that not only provided the users with access to shopping and commercial facilities but also at the same time enabled them to enjoy the rejuvenating view. With
an aim to achieve a “ikigai” for the users, the project included various commercial, residential and institutional facilities.

Treatment of junction near Nehru place metro station: Keeping in mind of the congestion that happens near the junction close to Nehru place metro station, a pedestrian overpass connecting with site and Nehru place commercial area has been proposed to improve pedestrian safety. Treatment of Outer ring road and Lala Lajpat rai road junction: As a major congestion node of the city, the junction faces heavy influx of traffic. Hence in order to ensure pedestrian safety and traffic reguation, table top crossing facility has been proposed along with ANPR system for vehicles.

Thread residency is a high rise group housing project designed for a
7 acres site in sector 99 Noida. The residential Group housing project includes EWS, 1 bhk, 2Bhk, 3Bhk, Studio and penthouse units along with a commercial and MLCP complex for enhanced user experience as well
as revenue generation opportunities. The entire residential project has been designed following a simple concept of connecting threads that can increase interaction between people or residents of the society.Flats
or apartments are not just spaces but these spaces rather observe the
various stages of our life. From witnessing the excitement of child for his
first day at school to the nervousness of a student when he faces his first interview. Flats are spaces that affects the emotional cycle of a person. HIGH RISE GROUP HOUSING

• The major and important ammenities such as hospitals, police station or petrol pump are located in a very close proximity of the site and hence all the facilities are readily available. • A major advantage for the site is that it is easily accessible and has road connectivity on all the four sides. • Presence of the triangular park gives a major aesthetic and amusement appeal to the residents of the area. • Another favourable factor for the site is that it has its water table up till 9 m below the gorund level and hence water will be readily available for use on the site.

An amusement park is located in a very close Proximity of the site.
WEAKNESS
MOTHER DAIRY 500 M A mother dairy outlet is located just 500 M away from the site.
• Since the site is surrounded by roads on all the four sides hence the traffic commutation causes noise pollution. • The presence of water table will deploy greater difficulties in the development of foundation for the building. • A secure and requirred provision for pedestrian movement is missing and hence pedestrian safety around the site area is hindered. • Improper sewage system around the site creates problems related to water clogging on the adjacent roads.

THREAT • The site lies in high earthquake zone( seismic zone 4) which will require additional preventive measures to avoid any damage. • The site being surrounded by road on all the four sides has high risk of enchroachment. • A threat here is that most of the residential buildings in the area are dependent upon boring for meeting their water requirements and that poses a threat to the water table present in the area.
CONCEPT OF THREAD RESIDENCY 1
2
The initial zoning for the site was done keeping in mind of the sun path and wind direction of the site. Further complete focus was given to the segregation of pedestrian and vehicular movement to ensure pedestrian safety.
Introducing more breathable spaces in the building mass to increase a sense of openness. Sense of interaction increases with sense of openness. Thus Punctures in building will lead to better interaction.
HIGH RISE GROUP HOUSING
3
The main source of inspiration for the concept was taken from the thread; that is interwinning of spaces. The tangling of spaces together, in order to increase the interaction between the spaces and the people. Further, each individual tower has punctures or gardens which are interlinked together through these skywalks or bridges at different levels.
The concept development starts from setting up blocks together to initiating punctures and then connecting them together.
The site planed spreads over an entire area of 7 acres and the achieved ground coverage for the design is 17 % of the site area which is 4844.7 sqm. Further, the built-up area achieved for the project is 1,01,469 sqm and thus the FAR achieved for the site is 3.57. The residency is designed for a total population of 4120 people where the total number of housing units are 1027.

02. KANPUR CENTRAL STATION R A I LWAY S TAT I O N R E D E V E L O P M E N T
Kanpur Central is a central and junction railway station in the
city of Kanpur and is one of the five central Indian railway stations. It is third busiest in country after Howrah Jn and New
Delhi railway station. Further the station has been constructed in Indo-Sarcenic style of architecture which gives it another unique characteristic. However, despite of being a busy railway station, it
faces several issues such as lack of prwwoper pedestrian facilities, regulation of vehicular movement and inconvenience in handling
24 coaches trains. keeping in mind of the opportunities that the sttaion posses as well as the peak passenger traffic that it deals with, Kanpur central has been proposed for redevelopment. KANPUR CENTRAL REDEVELOPMENT

Context map of the station
It is clearly evident from the pictures that the entry gates face major congestion due to the presence of vendors, IPT options, and pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
As per section 2.4.2 of the Manual for standards and specifications for railway station volume 1, there should be a minimization of customer travel distances.
The graph shows that ghantaghar chauraha is the busiest junction of the city with 90,000 passenger cars passing during the peak hours. Conflicting map of the site developed highlights that entries of station at city side are the major congestion points.
The graph from the survey conducted at station shows that 65% of passengers complained about inconvenience in using toilets. Parking map shows the inappropriate and inconvenient parking spaces, majorly in front of the station building at the station. Thus MLCP and toilet have been proposed

7
As is evident from the pictures, the space in front of the main station building lacks any public open space and is completely hardscaped resulting in an increased heat island effect.
It is clearly evident from the pictures provided above that the side of the station that lies on Jaipuria Road is highly inactive and lacks active frontage.
Proposal for a mixed use building in station premises 8
The graphic presented above highlights the open to built relationship of the site which has also been supported by the pie chart. These graphics clearly states that a total of 77% of the total site area has been allocated to open spaces whereas, 14 % is for semi open and 9 % is for built spaces.
Traffic as well as the activity zone map highlights that the side on the Jaipuria road is the least active and lacks active frontage. further as per the NTOD policy manual of IRSDC it is important for station boundaries to have active frontage. Thus a proposal for development of frontage at the site.
Proposal for IPT regulation

05. CONGREGATION AT COMMUNITY CENTERS R E S E A R C H O N P U B L I C O P E N S PA C E S
“Cultures and climate differ all over the world, but people are the same.
They’ll gather in public if you give them a good place to do it” – Jan Gehl.
Public spaces have become a fundamental part of the lives of citizens around
the world. From the neighborhood parks where we take our daily morning walks, to the footpaths and streets that surround our buildings, public spaces have become an important asset .This research is an attempt to understand
the importance of public open spaces in community centers. With the comparative assessment of public open spaces of the Preet Vihar community
center, the study aims to propose analytical interventions to overcome the
possible shortcomings in the public open spaces of the community centers. https://issuu.com/apoorvaprakash46/docs/report_1_final DOCUMENTATION

city, from the Lahori Gate of the Red Fort to Fatehpuri Masjid. These two significant spaces have been studied in detail and the current scenario of the se spaces have been analyzed to understand the working and nature of public spaces along with analyzing the walkability aspect of these spaces. https://issuu.com/apoorvaprakash46/docs/walkability https://issuu.com/apoorvaprakash46/docs/chongae_canal_and_chnadni_chowk
