30 Years: Riding Waves of Change My media roots were cultivated in radio. In fact, in a time before the time of cable television, I spent my years building and managing radio stations in Illinois.

So, when Kim and I laid the groundwork for what was to be AP Media from our home 30 years ago, radio naturally became the launching pad of this ministry.

And GOD MOVED POWERFULLY! There were many instances in the history of this ministry where listeners even found physical healing as they touched their radio and the broadcasters prayed.

Places of Southeast Asia, which were adamantly opposed Christian message, started opening their doors for these speakers to come and hold rallies. Dozens of churches were planted over the years.

Thirty years later, as we assist the national church of Indonesia to launch a radio station, there is once again a divinely-positioned opportunity to speak into a part of the world where opposition rages between Christian believers and radical Islam.

I once again am poised with expectancy— interceding that for many who have never heard the gospel.

Thanks to partners like you who have faithfully invested in prayer and financial support of this ministry and the relationships we’ve established with national churches across Asia Pacific, the lines of communication and influence are wide open.

PIONEERS OF THE BROADCAST —with Bill Snider— The very first year Kim and I laid the foundation in place for AP Media, the mission God set on our heart was clear — to train indigenous media missionaries to carry the gospel to their people in a way they could understand that would translate into their daily lives.

The most accessible, wide-reaching, cost effective way to carry that message — radio. So we began raising up urban radio broadcasters. During that time radio shows like “Hope for You,” “The Miracles of Life” and “The Answer to Your Problem” brought the power of the Word of God in a culturally relevant way into homes across the Philippines.

people, bringing revival to a people who had never understood salvation through Jesus.

There were also numerous reports of listeners finding physical healing as they touched their radio and the broadcasters prayed.

People even waited outside the studio so that when the program was over, they could talk personally to the broadcasters.

As the broadcast multiplied, so did open doors.

Places in Southeast Asia, which had been adamantly opposed the Christian message, opened their doors for these speakers to come and hold rallies. Dozens of churches were planted over the years in some of the most remote islands.

Radio continues to be a hallmark of this ministry. In fact, many of those same radio shows have changed names, but the many of the broadcasts still embrace the same mission they were purposed with.

As you support the ministry of AP Media, you invest in that 30-year legacy that continues to be multiplied in building the Church in Southeast Asia in kingdom potential.

Partners, we need your help!

It’s one of the largest training events we’ve ever hosted. It will strategically MULTIPLY the kingdom work happening across Southeast Asia!

Media missionaries from Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea and more will be converging in Baguio, Philippines, for the Asia Institute for Media in Ministry (AIMM), April 9-14, 2018.

We will be offering classes covering specialized areas of media production as well as courses equipping leadership to utilize media in the church better.

To assist participants from churches with great financial need, we are asking if you could partner with us to provide AIMM Media Missionary scholarships.

The cost of the program for one week is $170, which includes accommodation, food, and training. We’re asking people to take care of their airfare expenses.

Can you prayerfully consider today sponsoring one or more “half” scholarships ($85) for Filipino participants or full scholarships ($170) for those coming from out of the country?

AP Media continues to equip the Church to respond to the War on Drugs taking place in the Philippines with the fourth installment in our series — Gary’s story — which has reached over 400,000 views. The story is also being used in local drug rehab centers and in churches.

“My God was money, showing my dad he was wrong,” Gary says. “I reached the peak of my success. We sold hundreds of millions in property. I made my millions. That started my misery.”

Gary found out he could not handle success. He didn’t have time for his family. He had to be number one. “I became just like my dad. What I hated I became.”

Eventually his life of drugs, clubs, casinos and women came crashing down. He lost it all, including his family. “I will never forget when my daughter said to me, ‘Please, Dad, go away.’ ” Watch Gary’s story to see how God took him from an addict to a fully restored pastor reaching over 7,000 prisoners with the message of Jesus Christ.

Each Living Free video costs our ministry about $1,200 to write, film, produce and distribute.

—OPEN DOORS—

ONE STORY CAN REACH THE UNREACHED In our 30th year of ministry, God is miraculously opening MORE DOORS for Asia Pacific Media than we’ve ever seen!

At present, we are voice dubbing one of our ethnic movies to specifically connect with an unreached people group in Southeast Asia. This people group has over a million in their population and at best fewer than a few hundred Christians.

The movie is a compelling drama that shows in word and deed what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We have put this film into four other languages. This movie is being translated for the FIFTH TIME! To our knowledge, this is one of the first times that a dramatic movie, outside of “The Jesus Film,” has been made available for this language group.

The project cost to do this is $5,500. Costs include transportation, accommodation and food for speakers (voice talents), rental of a studio in their area for part of the work, love gifts or offerings for talents, a voice coach, other personnel and distribution.

—PRAY FOR AP MEDIA AS WE—

Train World-Changers Will you agree in prayer for these needs related to our upcoming Asia Institute for Media in Ministry (AIMM), as well as for the ministry and staff of AP Media?

• Pray for those who will attend AIMM. Pray that God would supply the funds for their travel, especially those coming from other countries. Pray that God would prepare their hearts to receive what He has for them.

• Pray that offerings come in for scholarships, without which some may not be able to attend AIMM. We need a total of $3,000 in scholarship monies and $2,000 to cover travel for additional instructors who are flying in for the event.

• Pray for the AIMM trainers as they prepare to teach. Pray that God would give them wisdom to teach just what those attending need to hear.

• Pray that the media missionaries trained at AIMM will return to their home countries and effectively use their skills to reach the unreached with the gospel.

• Pray for the provision for our $400 daily operating expenses for AP Media. This base of support is what enables us to continue providing training like the Asia Institute for Media in Ministry.

—DIGITRACTS: THE SEARCH—

Lessons in Real Love —AP MEDIA STAFF—

“The Search,” the latest DigiTracts project, was released by AP Media just in time for the February Love Month celebration in the Philippines. A heart-rending song and powerful video imagery express our desire to find real love and our frustration as we look for it in the wrong places.

The opening words of the song say what far too many feel. “I’m tired of running around and trusting people who let me down.”

The question is clear: How will you find real love? The answer is just as clear: Let God’s perfect love complete you.

DigiTracts are short video clips geared toward engaging youth in Asia Padific and elsewhere with God’s Word. Designed for viewing and sharing online, these clips are geat discussion starters for social media and small groups and can easily be shared using mobile technology.

Last year’s Love Month release, “The Dance,” was viewed by over 120,000 on social media alone. Pray that “The Search” touches even more lives. “The Search” is available as a free download for churches to use in their services.
