Wednesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. Eola Road Branch – Large Meeting Room and Virtual via Facebook Live The Ballet Folklorico Quetzalcoatl is a nationally recognized Mexican folk dance troupe that has been delighting audiences for the past 35 years!

Saturday, October 1 from 1 - 2 p.m. Eola Road Branch- Large Meeting Room Meet animals from Phillips Park Zoo. All ages, drop-in program.

Spanish Guitar Duo Fernandez and Kimball LIVE!*

Diwali Celebration- the Festival of Lights!

Sunday, October 2 at 2 p.m. Eola Road Branch – Quiet Reading Room and Virtual via Facebook Live Relax by the fireplace and enjoy the soulful sounds of Spanish Guitar with Hector Fernandez and Thomas Kimball! Their diverse style includes gypsy rumba, bossa nova, flamenco, classical and gypsy jazz.

Saturday, October 15 at 1 p.m. Eola Road Branch Join us for an afternoon filled with stories, crafts, treats, and live, henna body art! We will also be featuring a performance by a local dance school.

Friday, October 7 at 6 p.m. Santori Library – Atrium Join us for a celebration of Hispanic Heritage including ice cream from La Garrafa, a dance performance by Danzantes Unidos MITOTILIZTLI, a new photography exhibit by Alejandra Luis titled ‘Views from the Oaxacan Culture’, and more!

Preserving the Harvest*

Saturday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. Eola Road Branch – Large Meeting Room and Virtual via Zoom Join gardening educator Mark Lyons for a session on preserving your garden harvest through the winter and maybe even beyond! This presentation will cover canning, freezing, dehydrating, and winter storage techniques.

Wednesday, October 19 at 6:30 p.m. Eola Road Branch – Large Meeting Room Children & teens can celebrate Diwali by sharing their dance skills at our first-ever, dance talent show! All skill levels are welcome, and each participant will receive a 5 minute time slot. Walk-in audience members are welcome. Grades K–12.

Incredible Bats and Other Misunderstood Animals

Thursday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m. Santori Library- 125/126 In this family program, we will dispel common myths about bats. We will have live fruit bats, snakes, tarantulas and rats at this presentation. Ticketed program. Tickets can be picked up 30 minutes before the program at the Children's Desk.

Rangoli Competition*

Saturday, October 22 at 10 a.m. Santori Library- Atrium Draw rangoli or any pattern of your choice and decorate it with provided materials such as colored powders, colored rice, a variety of beans, and more. All ages are welcome. Participants may bring additional materials as desired.

Monday, October 10 at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 12 at 5:30 p.m. Santori Library – Room 224 Ven a este taller y crea una piñata, el taller consiste en 2 días. / Come to this workshop and make your own piñata. The workshop is a two-day process, and you must attend both days.

Saturday, November 5 from 10 - 11 a.m. Virtual via Zoom Make your holidays sweeter this year with teen Chef Owen! He'll demonstrate how to make a delicious holiday treat for your special celebrations and will share the recipe with all attendees. All ages are welcome.
