I think you will all agree with me that there is very little to say about St Joseph’s, except that it’s a team whose aspiration this year is to win the league title.
were a very worthy opponent and we used the opportunity well to prepare mentally and physically for tonight’s game. I would say it was a win-win for both clubs.
They have only dropped four points this season and still remain unbeaten, so I am hoping that we are able and capable to change that status tonight and walk away with the three points.
In other areas, our U23 and Women have each played two games since we published our last programme. With both teams having won their respective games, they both head their respective league table still undefeated.
For our title aspirations, tonight’s game is crucial, as not winning could be detrimental for us in that dropping points leaves us with no margin for errors for the second part of League. Last week we played a friendly game against FF Malmo from Sweden ahead of their UEFA Europa League game against Copenhagen. A very tough opposition and although we lost 5-0, I think we

PLAYERQ&A LEE CASCIARO
Name: Lee Casciaro Place of birth: Gibraltar Date of Birth: 29.09.1981 Age: 38 Hobbies: Anything and everything related to football. Previous Clubs: None. I have played for Lincoln since my academy days Favourite Food: Meat Best experience in football: I have had many great experiences in football but to highlight just the one it was playing the Q2 in the Champions League against Celtic at home in front of a packed stadium and scoring the winning goal. Worst experience: That was my ACL injury in 2013. At times I thought I would never make it back to play football at the highest level.
My role model(s) in life: Those are my parents by far. Where do you see yourself in the next few years: Hopefully still playing football until my legs stop functioning! Mention a player you admire: Can’t really say one, try to admire the older generation of footballers compared to now. What can we expect from Lincoln this season: Our first objective is to try and win the League, that’s our first priority and then try and get the Rock Cup back after a few years without winning it. What advice would you give to young kids who want to do well in football: Train hard and you’ll play hard and very importantly pay attention to the coaches. What young players need to understand is that you will play on
match day as you train. It all starts in the training pitch, that is where the games start and why they need to work hard. What can we expect from Lincoln in this game: It’s a difficult game were two very good teams competing for the League are going to face each other. I think this game could go either way so let’s see what happens. I only hope it goes our way. What are your views from our previous game: It was a good game, we played to our strengths and after the first goal everything came easier for us like in most recent games. QUICK-FIRE TO FINISH... Worst Dressed Player: Pibe Best Dressed Player: Bernardo Most Intelligent player: Toscano Least Intelligent player: Kike Team Joker: Kike Biggest Moaner: Bernardo

LINCOLN RED IMPS 8 FC BOCA JUNIORS 1 GIBRALTAR NATIONAL LEAGUE – 27.11.2019
LINCOLN Red Imps secured an eighth victory in a row and it was rather fitting that we marked it with eight goals against FC Boca Juniors. We took the lead on the quarter-hour mark through Alvarez and then doubled our advantage five minutes later when Ramon found the net. We didn’t have things all our own way, though, as our opponents reduced the arrears shortly after the half-hour mark. Normal service was resumed when Lee Casciaro made it 3-1 and that is how it stayed going into the half-time interval. Kike hit our fourth early in the second period before Ramon notched his second on the hour. We were well on top at this stage as Gil got his name on the scoresheet, closely followed by a second for Kike, who went on to complete his hat-trick towards the end to round off the scoring. LINCOLN RED IMPS: Goldwin, Lopes, L. Casciaro (Del Rio 61), Alvarez, Gil, Galliano (Thorne-Llambias 66), Toscano, Alvaro, Kike, Coombes, Ramon (Pererira 65). Subs not used: Soler, Hernandez, Cataruozzolo, Perez. BOOKING(S): Gil GOAL(S): Alvarez, Ramon (2), Casciaro, Kike (3), Gil IMAGES: Neil Wilson. OFFICIAL MATCHDAY PROGRAMME OF THE LINCOLN RED IMPS 07

Intermediate League In their first game the U23s beat our closest rival, Glacis Untied, 4-0. The first half saw both teams creating many goal opportunities with both teams sharing the possession on the ball. The second half was totally a different ball game. It was not until this time that we were able to step it up and take control of the game to secure our seventh consecutive win of the season. On Tuesday they were back in action against Bruno Magpies. A convincing first half performance saw the team go in at half time 4-0 up with a brace from Shay Jones and further goals from Julian Del Rio and Jamie McGrail. Manager, Malcolm Martin, used the second half to rotate players and give injured players much-needed game time, and despite creating further chances, the side could not increase the scoreline and conceded a consolation goal near the end to make it 4-1. The side have now won all eight matches and sit top of the table with one match left against Mons Calpe this weekend before the Christmas break. Women’s League Our girls played Europa last week in the fixture before the senior men’s team took on FC Boca Juniors. Four goals from Shani Robba and three from Tiffy Viagas secured the three points. With the senior men watching on, one
could have said that this could have been some added pressure for the girls but it actually proved to be the contrary, this appeared to give our girls the extra motivation to put on a very good performance and so they did. As the girls kept on adding goals to the tally, this created a lot of banter between the senior men with our forwards, especially when a spectacular goal from Tiffy Viagas who curved the ball into the top right hand corner from the left hand side of the area, had the men standing on their feet acknowledging the quality of the goal. Last Wednesday evening we faced Lions FC. With two goals from Tiffy Viagas and Shani Robba and one from

Laura Cortes Minan, we secured the win with a 5-1 scoreline. It was a game of two halves with the first half primary being dominated by Lions, but we still managed to go back into the changing room 1-0 up at the break. In the second half, after a few tactical changes, our girls dominated the game to secure the points as we keep up our 100% start.

ASSISTANT COACH ASSESSES OUR LATEST VICTORY…
Our last match against FC Boca Juniors resulted in a comfortable win with an 8-1 score in our favour. Goals from Blas, Borja, Lee and a brace from Gato together with a hat-trick from Kike, proved no match for an FC Boca Juniors’ team who managed to unsettle us a bit in the first half when they scored to make it 2-1. A third from Lee Casciaro just before half-time gave us the opportunity to go into the break and adjust a couple of things on the tactics board which had an effect on the second half with five more goals and plenty more opportunities to score. One of the highlights of the game was 17 year-old Craig Galliano starting in the first eleven for the first time in his career. Craig put in a solid performance in the game and is certainly one of the players to look out for in the coming years both for club and country. The other highlight of the night was the debut of Pibe for the club, after recovering from an injury which had kept him away from the pitch since he signed in August. We
saw him come in and pair up with Kike up front to form a lethal attacking partnership, one which will be feared by rival defenders. Today we probably face our toughest match since facing Europa in the first game of the season. Three valuable points are up for grabs, which will prove vital in the race for the League title. This is two teams that know each other very well and will certainly provide a match well worth watching. Thank you for your support – enjoy the game… DANIEL SEGOVIA Assistant Coach OFFICIAL MATCHDAY PROGRAMME OF THE LINCOLN RED IMPS 11

ST. JOSEPH’S: A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY FORMED in 1912, St Joseph's are one of Gibraltar's oldest existing football clubs. They have consistently competed in the Gibraltar Premier Division in that time, however, they have only won the title once; in the 1995-96 season. They have seen considerably better fortunes in the Rock Cup, however, with nine titles in their history, including a League and Cup double in 1996. Their last Rock Cup triumph came in 2013. Since Gibraltar became a member of UEFA, the Saints have seen more mixed fortunes, including narrowly avoiding relegation in the 2013-14 season, ending up in the relegation play-off and narrowly beating Mons Calpe to retain their Premier Division status. Since that near miss, they have consistently finished in the top half of the league, and in 2017 qualified for the UEFA Europa League for the first time with a third-place finish. They also finished third at the end of last term and their subsequent exploits in the UEF A Europa League earlier this term saw them progress to take on Scottish giants, Glasgow Rangers, over two legs. So far this season they are unbeaten in their opening ten League games.
