Today I must start my address to you by congratulating our Women’s team for being crowned League Champions for the fourth consecutive year with two games still to be played. I would not only like to take this opportunity to congratulate our girls on their achievement, but also thank them for all the hard work put in so far this season. I not only say this as the President of the club but also as their Head Coach. Although the Women’s League is unfortunately only a three-horse race, the hours, dedication and commitment still need to be put in to be able to deliver results and that is exactly what our ladies have done to achieve their goal and be crowned League Champions. Well done to all involved and keep up the good work! Today's game hides no secrets at it’s one of those encounters that can go either way; for us it is paramount that we win the game if we want to close the fourpoint gap on our opponents and keep our League title aspirations alive. Europa FC are a very strong side, but with the football that we have displayed in the last two games, hopes are high within our camp. I am aware that a lot of
work and planning has been put in this week by Head Coach, German Crespo, his technical team and all the players in preparation for this game. It’ going to be a nerve-wrecking and nailbiting day for all us fans, but I am convinced the players will leave those nerves in the changing room and walk on the pitch with the right mindset and fully motivated to win the game. In other areas, our Under-23s played FC Hound Dogs last Sunday in the Intermediate League and once again displayed a very good, solid performance. With six games to end the League, they lead the table, four points clear of second-placed Lynx FC. As you might all be aware and as announced this week by the club, we have signed two local talents in this transfer window. Michael Lee Negrette and Graeme Torrilla are two young players for the present and for the future. On behalf of the Lincoln Family we welcome them to the club. Enjoy today’s game…

WE SCORED five goals for our second Championship Group game in a row as we overcame the challenge of Bruno’s Magpies with a 5-1 win. In wet and windy conditions, we took an early lead from the penalty spot as Kike fired home. Our advantage was doubled on the half-hour mark when Kike netted his second goal of the game to make it 2-0. Shortly afterwards we were able to further extend our lead when Julian Del Rio got his name on the scoresheet and that is how it remained going into half-time. After the break, our opponents were able to reduce the arrears through Splaine but it wasn’t long before Anthony Hernandez came off the bench to good effect as he added our fourth goal, again from the spot. Gato completed the scoring late on to give us another convincing victory. LINCOLN RED IMPS: Goldwin, Lopes, L. WOMEN: LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! WE NEED to start this week with our Women’s team who were crowned League Champions for the fourth year in a row. With a team full of injuries, they managed to beat Europa Fc 2-1 on Wednesday evening. Our ladies had most of the possession of the ball throughout the game and created numerous scoring opportunities, which we could not take advantage of. It was Europa FC, from a counter attack, who scored first in the 21st minute. Just before the stroke of half-time, Laura Cortes Minan, equalised from a perfectly-executed free-kick from the righthand corner of the edge of area. Our girls continued to dominate the game and just past the hour-mark, Naomi Victor, found the back of the net after meeting a perfectlytimed through-ball into space behind the Europa defence. Her pace proved to be too much for the defence and in a one-to-one situation with the ‘keeper, she tucked the ball coolly home. The next target is the Women’s Rock Cup, a trophy that was won by Lions FC last season and which our girls are very much looking forward to try and bring back home. UNDER-23s: ANOTHER GOOD PERFORMANCE OUR UNDER-23s played their 12th game of the season last Sunday afternoon against FC Hound Dogs and chalked up a commanding 40 victory. With yet another good overall performance from our boys, and despite having created many scoring opportunities, we went in at the break with a one-goal advantage courtesy of Dylan Borge’s strike in the 22nd minute. In the second half our young guns stepped up the tempo and in the 51st minute, Shay Jones found the back of the net to double our lead. Despite continuing to create good opportunities, it was not until 19 minutes from the end that Craig Galliano scored the third and nine minutes later, Ethan Llambias, sealed the game with our fourth goal. Our Under-23s are still to be defeated this season and with 11 wins and one draw and at present they sit on top of the table with a fourpoint advantage over second-placed Lynx FC. 08 OFFICIAL MATCHDAY PROGRAMME OF THE LINCOLN RED IMPS

In the first half we created many chances and that is the way I want the team to play going forward. I am very happy with the work my players are doing; with only a few weeks of training they have adapted to what we want from them very quickly.
The Head Coach assesses our last game and looks ahead to today’s big clash… IT WAS another victory with a great result in our last game. I think the team came out with the correct mindset from the very beginning and this helped us get in front early on.
After the break, we had ten minutes where we lacked concentration, and that is when they scored their goal, but straight after that we switched on again, with the help of fresh legs coming on from the bench. Overall it was another victory which helps us keep hope and motivates us further for that final objective we all have in mind. Now we look ahead to what is a very important game this afternoon where three points would put us straight back into the title race.
Our opponents go into the game four points ahead of us and that will give them confidence, but the way we have played our last two games I am sure the team is more than capable of getting the win. We could say the draw is in their favour and they will play with that in mind, but we will go out for the three points. All of the players are motivated both on and off-the-pitch. If the team plays the way we have been playing and training these weeks and we show the character that Lincoln is known for, I am sure we have a very big chance of closing the gap on Europa FC.
