We go into the game with the scores level at 2-2, a satisfying result against strong opponents despite finding ourselves two goals up until the 65th minute. The performance and determination from our players was great to see and the hope is that we can show similar qualities this evening and make home advantage count with our supporters behind us. We are in a positive frame of mind and look forward to the challenge ahead as we aim to progress into the next round of this fantastic competition. Your support is going to be so important to us. Having completed the League and Cup double in 2020/21, the players and staff certainly deserve all the plaudits, particularly with so many disruptions due to the pandemic. In all my years as President of this fantastic football club, last season was

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone connected to our opponents, CS Fola Esch before wishing them a safe journey home afterwards. The first leg was a very even and hard-fought contest and although we took a two-goal lead, our hosts showed their resilience and quality by coming back to level the tie and leave things all to play for today. We have prepared well for the game ahead and we go into it with confidence and belief in our ability. The preparations have been meticulous, as they need to be in such a prestigious competition, and we are ready to go out there and give it everything we’ve got in our quest to make it through to the next round.
Having supporters present inside the stadium and right behind us will give us a massive boost and hopefully we can reward you with an entertaining encounter and a winning performance. “It was a good game, we did what we had to do and succeeded in bringing home a positive result,” he said. “There were plenty of good aspects of our performance, but there are also things that we need to improve. “After going two goals up we maybe lost our concentration and this allowed our opponents to get two goals in quick succession. “We need to make sure we learn from our mistakes this time against opponents who have the ability to punish us if we are not at it.

THECAPTAIN WELCOME to the game as we once more do battle with CS Fola Esch. Last week in Luxembourg we gave a good account ourselves. But for a crazy two minutes in which we lost concentration and gave away a two-goal lead, our game plan was being executed and we had got ourselves into a good position. Before we travelled, most would have been happy coming away with a draw, but after our performance on the night and the way things panned out, there was an element of disappointment as we made the journey home.

2021 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SECOND QUALIFYING ROUND DRAW The UEFA Champions League second qualifying round draw has set the ties for 20/21 and 27/28 July.
The UEFA administration formed four groups of eight teams with an equal number of seeded and unseeded teams (four each in every group) for the draw in accordance with the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee. Clubs from the same association could not be drawn against each other.
Entering in this round are the likes of Celtic, PSV Eindhoven, Galatasaray, Olympiacos and Crvena zvezda. The 26 clubs are split into two sections: champions path (20 teams) and league path (six teams). Some ties will be only be fully set after the first qualifying round ends on 13/14 July.
For each group, two pots were prepared: one for the seeded teams and the other for the unseeded teams. For each group, the balls containing the names of the seeded sides were placed in one bowl and the balls containing the unseeded teams were put into another bowl. One ball was taken from each bowl and placed in a large empty bowl in the middle, where they were shuffled.

In what was a cagey opening, our first real effort on goal came in the eighth minute when De Barr tried his luck but the goalkeeper was equal to it.

As the home side started to get into their stride, Grisez had a couple of halfchances but in truth there was little flow to the opening exchanges. We managed to get our noses in front with 26 minutes on the clock when De Barr picked out Carralero who was able to find the net.

With our tails up, Walker went close whilst Yahaya had an effort blocked as half-time approached. At the other end, Bensi had the home side’s best opening but he failed to profit.
Mendes fired wide in their next raid. After Bensi saw an effort saved by Soler, he was able to reduce the arrears on 65 minutes as he seized upon an assist from Grisez.
It was the home side who started the second period on the front-foot as Correia went close, but we managed to hit them with a second goal on the 50minute mark when Britto, who came on at the break, fired home. Our hosts refused to let their heads drop and Soler had to be alert to thwart Correia as

WE WERE able to make it a League and Cup double courtesy of a hard-fought 20 victory over Glacis United in the Rock Cup Final.
and whilst it was hard-fought, genuine chances were few and far between at either end as neither team was able to get hold of the ball and make things happen.
We came out of the blocks with purpose and took the lead within the opening five minutes when Kike found the net as he latched onto a defence-splitting through-ball from Garrido. Our opponents refused to let their heads drop despite the early set-back and managed to get into their stride. There were good chances for both sides as the first half went on, but we were able to give ourselves some breathing space with a second goal when Kike this time turned provider to set up Carralero who made no mistake following a sharp counter-attack. In the wake of the goal, we almost added another as Kike headed wide from a good position, but we also had to be alert in defence with our opponents looking lively on the break.
Late chances came for Borghi as he fired wide for Glacis before Wall was denied by a smart save from the ‘keeper as he looked to add to our lead. In the end, it mattered not as we were able to lift more silverware.
With half-time approaching, we conceded a penalty when Nwosu was brought down by Sergeant and Galliano stepped up only to see his spot-kick saved by Soler as Witbreuk saw his follow-up strike the crossbar on its way over. It meant that we went into the second period holding a two-goal advantage

THE CLUB was founded in 1906 by English language teacher, Jean Roeder, and became the first football club in Luxembourg.
Winning four Championships and two Luxembourg Cups between 1918 and 1924, they claimed another League title in 1930 and won the Luxembourg Cup in 1955. They were losing finalists in the Luxembourg Cup in 1973, but had their first taste of European action in 1973/74 as they participated in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, falling at the first hurdle to Beroe Stara Zagora of Bulgaria, who beat them 11-1 on aggregate. There then followed a difficult period in the club’s history, during which time the club stubbornly rejected a merger with neighbours, Jeunesse Esch, and ended up in the third-tier of Luxembourg football in 2004-05. They were able to secure promotion after just one season at that level and just missed out on successive promotions with a play-off defeat. There was the sense, though, that better days
were upon them and during this time they pulled off a transfer coup by signing former Morocco midfielder, Mustapha Hadji, in the summer of 2007. Promotion back into the top-flight soon followed and in May 2013, they were Champions once again – 83 years since their last title success! The fact that the League was clinched with a 5-1 victory over rivals, Jeunesse Esch, made it even sweeter. It meant that the club participated in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League in 2013–14, but lost to Dinamo Zagreb 5-0 in the first leg, at home, and 1-0 away in the second leg. In 2015, they won the Championship again, after finishing runners-up the previous season, and after coming close in subsequent seasons since, they were crowned Champions in 2020-21. Their first victory in European competition came in the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round in 2016/17

when they beat Aberdeen at home, but lost on aggregate over two legs. They made progress in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round in 2017/18, beating Milsami Orhei and Inter Baku.
