Director General and Mrs. Jack J.C. Yang host the Opening Ceremony of the new Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Denver Director General and Mrs. Jack J. C. Yang hosted the Opening Ceremony of the new Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Denver to celebrate the relocation from Kansas City, Missouri to Denver, Colorado on Friday evening, May 29, 2015. Congressman Mike Coffman and other high dignitaries from Colorado make the welcoming speeches and cut ribbons with Director General and Mrs. Jack Yang in the ceremony. This auspicious occasion for Taiwan invited more than 300 guests from Denver Metropolitan area, Colorado to celebrate this meaningful event together. During his remarks, Director General Yang expressed the highest appreciation to the ten former Director Generals and all the colleagues in TECO in Kansas City
for their greatest contribution in establishing strong economic, trade and cultural relations with the six service states, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota, through the past 30 years. TECO in Denver will continuously work
on enhancing the partnership and friendship with the six states. Director General Yang further remarked that Taiwan is the tenth largest trading partner of the United States. TECO in Denver will look forward to working with the six states to promote a Bilat
eral Investment Agreement (BIA) and a Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) between Taiwan and the United States. Taiwan will also continue pursuing the achievement to join the important international organizations, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the Regional comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to bring more contribution to the world. TECO in Kansas City relocated from Kansas City, Missouri to Denver, Colorado on April 17, 2015 and officially renamed as TECO in Denver since April 27, 2015.
