1 S T- 4 TH G R ADE SESSION 7: JULY 20-24 | 12:30-3:30 PM Archery is a sport that develops strong problem-solving skills, increases focus and determination, teaches goal setting, and builds confidence. Join our archery coaches on the AOS archery range to learn this traditional summer camp skill!

SESSION 3: JUNE 15-19 | 12:30-3:30 PM Campers challenge themselves and gain confidence as Coach Georgie guides them through obstacles! Obstacles build strength, endurance, balance, and coordination. All kids—regardless of physical ability— benefit from participating in this obstacle-based fitness program. Emotional and behavioral self-regulation contributes to young children’s growing independence. Through art, games, and exercises, campers practice coping skills, mindfulness, emotional regulation, positive self-talk, and how to assert themselves in a healthy manner. Mental wellness meets fun with Mrs. Ruba Afifi, a mental health professional who has over 15 years of experience working with AOS students in the after-school and summer program.

Build a Better Book 5TH - 8 TH G R A D E
SESSION 7: JULY 20-24 | 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM In this course, campers get to use both low-tech and high-tech resources to make tactile books and games for visually impaired (VI) people. Learn the basics of braille as well as other ways to communicate visual information without printed materials. Campers have the chance to use electronics and other makerspace materials to create products that are useful for blind and VI people. Join us for this fun STEAM class that combines art, engineering, technology, and service!

Creative Writing Camp K-8T H GR ADE
SESSIONS 3 & 4: JUNE 15-26 | 8:00 AM-12:00 PM Annunciation Orthodox School is a proud host of the 30th annual Creative Writing Camp, sponsored by Writers in the Schools and Rice University’s School of Literacy and Culture. This widely popular camp provides a unique setting in which campers learn the power of words, gain practice in self-expression, and expand their creativity. Hesitant writers bloom in this supportive environment as they experience different ways of writing and develop the confidence to think of themselves as writers. Campers who already see themselves as authors develop new skills, stretch their creativity, and enjoy inspiration and mentoring from professional writers. Summer Musical Theatre Intensive 5 T H - 8T H GR ADE

SESSIONS 3 & 4: JUNE 15-22 | 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM This is a two-week, full-day intensive focused in musical theatre. Performers participate daily in production rehearsals for the Musical Revue, as well as special interest areas including dance, improvisation, commercial taping, audition training, makeup workshop, yoga, and poster design. Video submissions are required in advance for role placement. The cast list will be posted one week before the intensive, and the script and music will be distributed at that time. Broadway-style performances will be held in the AOS Caloudas Activity Center complete with costumes, mics, and lights.
