The 2020-2021 school year was one that truly put our flexibility and

adaptability to the test. We reinvented

seemingly every aspect of life at AOS to guarantee the safety of our community in service of the AOS mission. Due to the innumerable sacrifices of our students, parents, faculty, and staff, we were able to open our campus to in-person instruction and provide our students with the strong education for which AOS is known. This privilege was not available to many children throughout the country, and I am truly grateful to everyone who contributed their time, talent, and resources to make this possible for our students.

One of the most difficult decisions we made during the 2020-2021 school year was to temporarily close our campus to parents and visitors. In a normal year, our daily interactions with our students’ families are a huge part of what makes AOS such a special place. Nevertheless, our community found new and unique ways to support our school. From bleacher cut-outs at athletic games to a restructured, completely outdoor Olympics, you kept the AOS spirit going at a time when we could not always physically come together as a community. Your support did not end there as you helped us achieve a record in Annual Fund contributions. This surplus was appreciated more than ever in a year where we needed to build out additional classrooms, purchase new devices, and install countless plexiglass shields.

As I reflect on life during a pandemic, our commitment to educating hearts and minds feels more important than ever, and I am endlessly grateful to be at the helm of such a caring and dedicated community. It is a true honor and privilege. Thank you, again, for sharing your gifts and for being a donor.
