EMBRACING MY ODYSSEY

Odyssey Quest

One of the hardest questions I get asked is, “Where are you from?” This question is difficult, because throughout my life I have never stayed in one place for long. From growing up as a military child of two military parents, to being a frequently moving college student. As a result, I have experienced the varying cultures and lifestyles of many different places, learning about the things that make them unique. While I may not have a singular place to credit my upbringing to, the person and designer that I am today is a combination of all the places and people I have encountered along the way.

Since I have moved around so much, personalization and self expression are two things I carry throughout everything I do. The things that inspire me are a part of my identity and can be found within all my work. I do this by adding elements that make the piece unique and personal to not only my style, but the project’s. My personal style is a mixture of everything that inspires me. These inspirations come from the people who surround me, the places I have experienced, other artists, and my personal interests. I find that I create my best work when it is not for myself, but for the people I care about deeply.
