#EVENTS AT AOA ORIENTATION The First Week of College, the Orientation Week, is one of the most memorable week of all times!

Introduction to the course, multiple events and performances, the Scavenger Hunt, and the final outcome of the whole week- Aah! One week that is always in your thoughts.

SECTION A Ever wondered, what happened when Jack and Jill went up the hill, and Jill came tumbling down, and Jack was never found. The First Yearites attempted to solve this mystery. Starting with a story from the poem, to a poem from their story and then a final performance.

SECTION B You might be knowing Libeskind's Micromegas.

A drawing was enlarged and divided into parts/tiles and one was given to each person. to interpret it in terms of a 3D model. Each tile was combined and to look like a whole city which were features of different mythological cities

FROM YOUR SENIORS… Dear First yearites, A warm welcome to the life of AoA !

However daunting it looks, student life in architecture is of endless possibilities.

Everyday would seek from you differently, the scale of thinking, subject matter, approach , it all keeps varying with every project you encounter. But to reach a skilled level of thinking and analysis, this foundation year becomes of utmost importance. Where you go through a process of “UNLEARNING”.

Don’t stop yourself from embracing every task you get. Identify the aim and mold yourself accordingly.

You might have been warned about sleepless nights and stressful hours. But it's time to embrace that anxiety during the presentations and jury reviews and step out of your comfort zone to know your own capabilities. Even though jury reviews are stressful at times and they might lower your self-confidence, this course is a subjective course and the reviews we get are from a point of view that you may or may not like, you may or may not agree to. You should analyze and trust your instincts and follow what you feel is appropriate for your own design. All in all, it's important to be the best spokesperson for your design.

For commendable work one must strive for it. Peers play a role here, not only do you help them, you learn while doing so, you will reduce your mistakes, save time, and achieve more. Allegedly, peers give the tensile strength that is required for your compressed ideas .

It's necessary to reiterate that comradeship becomes elemental to this course as we continue to learn from each others’ experiences. This journey is of us knowing our own interests within the variety that architecture includes. So be sure to take in every opportunity that AoA offers you. Be it participating in extracurriculars and enhancing your vertical interaction with seniors, or taking part in competitions and knowing more through the experience, it's all worth the stress. We as seniors are extremely proud to have your new batch into AoA. Hope to see you all being interactive and cheerful.
