01 FASHION PARK

Building Typology: Mixed use Building

Location: Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. Site Area: 21 acres

A fashion park is being planned in Coimbatore, the second largest city in Tamil Nadu and a prominent Tier 2 city known for its textile industry. This mixed-use project integrates commercial and industrial elements, including a museum, runway hall, fashion designer studios, and retail shops (mall), with a focus on textile manufacturing such as clothing and shoes. Designed to harness Coimbatore’s developmental potential, the project aims to cater to both private and public users, leveraging the city’s textile-centric economy and urban features.

Promote and Runway Block

THE “PROMOTE AND RUNWAY HALL” IS A VENUE DESIGNED FOR FASHION SHOWS, PRIMARILY FOR MODELS. IT OFFERS ROOMS FOR PREPARATION. THE CONCEPT OF THE VENUE DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM ABSTRACT CLOTHING FORMS, WITH VARIOUS SHAPES AND SIZES.

THE GROUND AND FIRST FLOORS SHARE A SIMILAR FLOOR PLATE DESIGN, WHILE THE SECOND FLOOR FEATURES A DIFFERENT LAYOUT. THE SECOND FLOOR IS NOTABLY DOUBLE IN HEIGHT COMPARED TO THE OTHERS, CREATING A DYNAMIC SPACE FOR SHOWCASING FASHION.

THE CONCEPT DIVIDES THE RETAIL BLOCK INTO FOUR PHASES, WITH ONE DEDICATED TO LANDSCAPING AND THE OTHER THREE TO RETAIL. THE GROUND FLOOR WILL BE OPEN ON ALL SIDES, TAKING INSPIRATION FROM SECTOR 17. THE TOP ROOF WILL FEATURE A CLOTH ABSTRACT, RESEMBLING A TENSILE STRUCTURE. THERE WILL BE THREE TYPES OF SHOPS: LARGER, SMALLER, AND ANCHOR. STAIRS WILL SERVE AS GRAND FOCAL POINTS IN THE PLAN, AND ALL FLOORS WILL HAVE CORRIDORS TO FACILITATE NATURAL VENTILATION.

Fashion Design Studio

The floor plate will feature an irregular, amoeba-shaped layout, with a central lobby connecting a permanent exhibition hall and a versatile, naturally-lit multipurpose hall. Toilet facilities will be located at the end of the floor plate. The design will comply with building codes to ensure safety and functionality, providing visitors with an immersive experience of contemporary architecture.

02 EXHIBITION CENTRE

Building Typology: Commercial Building

Location: Foreshore Estate, Chennai

Site Area: 25.16 acres

This project aims to embody Chennai’s identity, promoting social, cultural, and economic activities. It seeks to revitalize an iconic architectural landmark to attract tourism, investors, traders, and other business activities. Proposed by Tamil Nadu’s Housing and Urban Development. The goal is to establish a landmark for business and tourism, featuring a mixeduse development with amenities like a convention center, exhibition spaces, hospitality services, offices, and a horticulture convention center.

The floor plate will feature an irregular, amoeba-shaped layout, with a central lobby connecting a permanent exhibition hall and a versatile, naturally-lit multipurpose hall. Toilet facilities will be located at the end of the floor plate. The design will comply with building codes to ensure safety and functionality, providing visitors with an immersive experience of contemporary architecture.

The first three floors will be planned for multi-surface parking. Above these, there will be floors for offices and organic farming, each designed appropriately for its purpose. The central core will serve as the main connection for all floors.

03 SHOPPING MALL

Building Typology: Commercial Building

Location: Perambur, Chennai

Site Area: 8.5 acres

Mall offer a very productive use of space by combining multiple uses within a single tower, adding vitality to urban areas. Mixed-use facilities are a viable design solution in terms of various environmental concerns, effective land management, and economy, while also bringing socially interactive opportunities.It enable people to live, work, play, and shop in one place. This approach allows for the sharing of infrastructure, utilities, and public amenities.

The lower ground floor is allocated for parking and a supermarket, with easy access. The ground floor includes a lobby and an anchor shop, other shops, and a food court. The first and second floors are similar, with a central elevator connecting to the third floor. The third floor features an atrium and socializing area. A ramp connects the third and fourth floors. The fourth floor includes a multiplex cinema, refuge areas, and a rooftop cinema, with service lifts and stairs throughout the building for convenience.
