Tally 2019 updates - Summarized!

A successful software is one which is constantly updated to meet changing business requirements. If the changes are not made, the software will become obsolete. Tally.ERP 9 is one such software which is continuously updated, bugs are fixed and changes are made to improve the usefulness of software.

This article is about Tally updates that were introduced throughout 2019. A walk through the Journey of Tally in 2019.

Following are the versions and their detailed description of what was new in their updated versions -

Tally.ERP 9 version 6.5.1 - 25th March 2019 Few changes were made to support the statutory changes in E-way bill and payroll.

E-Way Bill generation with the Common Enrollment Number of Transporter.

Support for the newest e-Way Bill template (Version 1.0.0219 ).

Support for income tax changes in the Budget for FY 2019-2020.

Income Tax Returns with standard deduction and health & education cess details will now be generated in Tally.

Tally.ERP 9 version 6.5.2 - 27th May 2019 Few changes were made in Tally to support the latest statutory changes.

Changes in Annexure II of 24Q and Form 16 of Income Tax. Generation of e-returns 24Q of Income Tax, which will support latest File Validation Utility.

Using the latest MS-Excel template of GST, you can export GSTR-3B , which is named as

GSTR3B_Excel_Utility_V4.1.xlsm.

Tally.ERP 9 version 6.5.3 - 30th July 2019 These are the changes that were made Kerala Flood Cess calculation is supported in Tally.ERP 9. You can also print its details

GSTR-4 - Offline Tool Version 3.3 is now supported. Data can be exported in Excel sheets and JSON format to file quarterly GST returns until March 2019.

Payroll Error T-FV-6071 used to appear while validating the text file of Form 24Q in the FVU. This issue has been resolved.

The error T-FV-6006 Invalid Section Record Type used to appear while validating text file of Form 24Q , as the breakup of values of Chapter VI A Others were not exported to line C6A .

In this version, this issue is resolved.

In the text file of E-Challan Return (ECR), the value for gross wages used to appear as per the salary for the employees instead of the value in the Payroll voucher. This issue is resolved.

Accounting Reports Separate columns for:

Inside the columnar registers of Journals, Payments, Debit Notes and Credit Notes, now you can put the Voucher Reference Number.

Supplier bill number and date in columnar register (using F5: Columnar button) of Purchases .

Voucher reference number and date inside the columnar report (the use of F8 : Columnar button) of Ledger Vouchers for purchases, journals, payments, debit notes and credit notes.

Tally.ERP 9 version 6.5.4 - 29th Aug 2019 Some changes in this version are as given belowGST Annual Computation report to view the values as per the books A detailed report is added which has GST transactional information as per books of accounts. Using this, you can identify mismatches, if any, and file GSTR-9 accurately.

A report for GST Annual Computation is now made available in this version. You can use this report to: Obtain the transaction values as per books.

Check the transactions that are not included and resolve incomplete or mismatch in information, and use the break-up of values to file GSTR-9.

Support for GST CMP-08 GST CMP-08report can be generated and printed as a Word document, with all the details of turnover and tax values of outward and inward supplies on which tax is payable.

Enhancement for E-way Bill Tally.ERP 9 provides an entry assistance to prefill the distance in E-way Bill Details screen based on transactions made in the past. You can export these details in Excel and JSON formats, and use it to generate E-way Bill on NIC portal.

Tally.ERP 9 version 6.5.5 - 31st Dec 2019 This release brings you the following updates: Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh are now supported in Tally so that you can have a smooth transition 1st January 2020 onwards Filing Kerala Flood Cess returns is possible using the computation report.

Changes in the Income Tax, TDS and TCS as required in budget or introduction of new validation tools are now available in Tally.

Other than these product improvements are done in order to have optimized product performance.

These were the updates that were introduced in 2019 alone. Tally is statutory compliant and hence it needs to be updated whenever there is a significant change in the Statutory terms.

Similarly there will be many updates that will be introduced in 2020. The only requirement to get all these updates is a valid TSS (Tally .Net Subscription). Thus always keep your TSS updated to enjoy the benefit of updated software.
