Main Lobby and Restaurant

The SAS Royal Hotel was designed by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen for the airline Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS). It was opened on July 1, 1960 by King Frederick IX and Queen Ingrid as the Royal Hotel. it is considered to be the first skyscraper in Copenhagen.

AXEL TOWERS

Cobblestone Flooring Located at the center of Alextrov Square, this mixed use office space serves primarily as the headquarters of an international law firm. Completed in 2017, it uses traditional materials such as copper in a modernist interpretation.

BLOX - DAC

Home to the Danish Architecture Center, the Blox building uses stacked boxes that hark back to the shipping containers that once lined the harbor at Copenhagen.

The color scheme aims to reflect both the water and patinated copper found all over the city.

BAGSVÆRD CHURCH

Nave and Altar of the church

Designed in 1968 and located in the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, the Bagsværd Church is a predominantley concrete structure. The interior is lit through the articulation of concrete shells that let indirect light into the space through the roof.

DR KONCERTHUSET

Main Concert Hall

Studio II

Located in the northern part of Ørestad, the DR Koncerthuset is the new headquarters of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. The concert complex consists of four halls with the main auditorium seating 1,800 people.

Construction was completed in 2009 at cost of 5B DKK.

ORDRUPGAARD MUSEUM Ordrupgaard is a stateowned art museum situated near Jægersborg Dyrehave, north of Copenhagen. The museum houses one of Northern Europe’s most considerable collections of Danish and French art from the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.

LOUISIANA MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

Located 35km north of Copenhagen on the banks of the Øresund, the Louisiana Mueseum is the most visited museum in Denmark. It is appreciated for blurring the boundaries between art, architecture and landscape.

COPENHILL

Copenhill is a combined heat and power waste-to-energy plant and recreational facility. The porject was completed in 2017 at a cost of 3.1B DKK. The facilty burns 400,000 tons of municipal solid waste annually producing energy for 5 nearby counties.

The 8 House is a large mixed-use development built in the shape of a figure 8 located in Ørestad in Copenhagen. It follows the concept of layering with residential apartments on the top with buisness spaces at the lower levels.

CISTERNS IN SØNDERMARKEN

Mineral deposit causing stalactites

The cistern is currently a part of the Frederiksberg Museum and is used as an exhibition space.

Located under Frederiksberg Hill in the heart of Søndermarken Park, it once contained the supply of drinking water for the Danish capital and could hold as much as 16 million litres of clean water.
