This investigation project deals with the fact that the new city is made in a different way compared with the old design made in the past, so the role of the modern architect is changing rapidly and we need to be ready to change.
The document compares the architect profession in the city of Madrid in different times. The TODAY explains the situation of the real profession with numbers and graphic, the problem of overpopulated market and the rise of new architecture universities around the world. The PAST speaks about how the city of Madrid was planned in the 90´s and 00´s with bis mastodontic urban projects and development design in the good economic times. Lastly the TOMORROW makes us think about the new way of planning the city of the actual Madrid, with the analysis of the controversial pparticipative project of Plaza de España, how it has been designed by the administration and what is the role of the architect in designing and building this project.
