ixth graders at Berner Middle School in the Massapequa School District learned about the writing and publishing process from an author whose child-friendly book about the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is used as a teaching tool at the school. Author Tom Rogers recently connected with students via videoconference and talked about his book, Eleven, which is about the journey of a boy who turns 11 on 9/11. Rogers discussed the different ways authors find motivation for their books. Rogers concluded each presentation with a question and answer session.
