Throughout the month of March, the Rotary Club of Great Neck will be accepting pairs of shoes for its annual shoe drive, ‘Souls for Shoes’. The Rotary Club of Great Neck is collecting shoes and sneakers in any condition and size for adults and children till March 29.

“We have been collecting shoes for this project together with the Northport Rotary Club for a number of years,” said Dr. Lidia M Epel, Rotary Club of Great Neck, District Chair Fundraising Subcommittee.

The Rotary Club asks that the pair of shoes are tied together to keep all pairs organized and prevent a single shoe from being lost in the shuffle.

“The shoes are delivered to a site that teaches individuals how to repair them and then sent to different areas of the world in need of them,” said Epel. “Last year they were sent to the Philippines.”

“The Rotary Club of Great Neck is dedicated to helping our communities in many ways, whether by delivering 1200 turkeys with all the trimmings for Thanksgiving as well as providing toiletries, diapers and more items to St. Aloyisius’s pantry,” said Epel.
