Historical Colours with a New Gleam

Städtebau & Architektur (S&A), Gebäudemanagement, hat in Zusammenarbeit mit S&A, kantonale Denkmalpflege, die Sanierung der strassenseitigen Hausfassade unseres Museumsgebäudes am St.-Alban-Graben 7 realisiert. Dank einer Farbschichtsondierung konnte die ursprüngliche Farbgebung der Fassade rekonstruiert und die Fassade nach historischem Vorbild unterhalten werden.

The Buildings Management and Monument Preservation departments of the canton’s Urban Planning and Architecture Office collaborated on the renovation of the street-facing façade of our museum building at St.-Alban-Graben 7. By carrying out probes of the paint layers, it was possible to reconstruct the original paint colours and maintain the historical appearance of the façade.

Die Arbeiten an der Hausfassade wurden während der Sommermonate ausgeführt.

Nun erstrahlt die ehemalige, vom Basler Architekten Melchior Berri entworfene Stadtvilla in neuer historischer Farbigkeit.

The work on the façade was carried out during the summer months.

The former town house, designed by the Basel architect Melchior Berri, now shines with fresh but authentic colours.
