The Antigo Parks & Rec Department manages over 250 acres of parks, playgrounds, playing fields, trails, and open spaces. With 21 parks, approximately 5.5 miles of trails, and 8 ball fields featuring various amenities and facilities, we take pride in offering recreational opportunities for our community. Activities such as walking, biking, running, disc golfing, and dog walking flourish on our trail system. Our trails include paved paths, boardwalks, woodchip trails, sidewalks, and off-road sections. The City of Antigo has 8 shelters available for the public to rent for various events, large and small Shelter facilities are available for rent from May to October with the exception of Peaceful Valley Warming House which is available year-round Rentals are accepted a year in advance of the rental date

Reservations can be made online, over the phone or in-person at City Hall

12’ enclosed trailer with 12, 6’ Resin Tables and 72, Resin Chairs is available to rent yearly for residents of Langlade County

Recreation

T-BALL

This is a fun league where youth hit off a tee, learn to run the bases, and learn the concept of fielding. Practices are prior to games, which are played in local parks.

Ages: 3 (as of Aug 31, 2025)

Dates: Tuesday, May 6- Thursday, June 5 (Tues & Thurs)

COACH PITCH BASEBALL

Participants will hit from an underhand toss from their coach.

Ages: 4-5 (as of Aug 31, 2025)

Dates: Monday, May 5- Wednesday, June 11 (Mon & Wed)

PITCHING MACHINE BASEBALL

Participants will hit from a pitching machine. Ages: 6-7 (as of Aug 31, 2025)

Dates: Tuesday, May 6 - Thursday, June 12 (Tues & Thurs)

LANGLADE COUNTY JUNIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

LCJL is a co-ed league for young baseball players. Games are played at different fields throughout the county.

Ages: (as of May 1, 2025): C League: 5-8 B League: 9-12 A: League 13-15

Dates: C-League (End of May - End of June); B-League (End of May - Mid-July); A-League (End of May - End of July)

City League: 8U plays Tuesdays & Thursdays in town ball fields 10U-14U some travel required

The main goal is to have fun, learn good sportsmanship, and learn basic soccer skills. Practices are built into the schedule. Games and practices are played at local parks.

This fundamentals of football camp will introduce all participants to every position in football. All aspects of the game will be covered along with skill competitions and touch football games played at the end of each day.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Have fun and learn basic football fundamentals and concepts.

YOUTH NORDIC SKI PROGRAM

This program runs through the winter season with lessons provided by instructors at the Springbrook X-Country Ski Trail, Jack Lake, and Gartzkes. There are a limited number of skis, boots, and poles available for use during the season.

OPEN SKATES

OUTDOOR SKATING RINKS

Our outdoor ice-skating rinks can be found at Peaceful Valley Park, located at 420 Field St. in the winter (weather permitting). Heinzen Pavilion Rink: is a covered and illuminated space designed for figure skaters and non-hockey enthusiasts. Outdoor Hockey Rink: features boards, nets, and lighting and is situated just north of the Heinzen Pavilion. Warming House: is accessible daily from 7:00am to 8:30pm, weather permitting for skating.

SLEDDING

Experience the thrill of sledding at Rotary Sledding Hill, found at Railway Activity Park, 1011 1st Ave. The hill will be illuminated once conditions permit.

ICE FISHING

Antigo Lake: Located at 510 4th Ave.

Remington Lake: located at 1228 Hogan St. and is available for youth and disabled anglers.

HANGING BASKET PROGRAM

DNR Ice Safety

Online registration for a basket and plaque, annual renewal, or general donation to support the program is now available. Plaques are a $150.00 one-time fee with an initial $50.00 basket donation ($200.00 total). Renewals are $50.00/year and are due by December 31. Each location supports up to 2 plaques. If you are no longer interested in renewing, please contact our office at 715-623-3633 x-131/154 and we will get your plaque returned to you.

FREE CAR SEAT SAFETY CHECKS

Free car seat safety checks are every third

Wednesday of each month from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Located at the City of Antigo Fire Department; 700 Edison St., enter off 4th Ave.
