Anthony Qi

Anthony Qi was born in Buffalo, New York, and raised in Houston, Texas, in a household that emphasized learning and curiosity. From an early age, he developed a strong interest in exploring new ideas and environments, which laid the foundation for his future path. After high school, he was accepted into the prestigious Business Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin, a highly competitive track designed to challenge motivated students in business leadership. During his time at UT Austin, Anthony majored in Finance and minored in Spanish, graduating in 2018 with a major GPA of 3.5. His coursework sharpened his analytical thinking, while the honors curriculum exposed him to high-pressure cases and team-based projects. In 2015, he studied abroad at the Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires, where he pursued program management and strengthened his Spanish fluency by immersing himself in the culture and daily life. Anthony began his professional career through internships at Goshawk Global Investments, Nine Ten Capital Management, and Intertek in Shanghai. These roles gave him exposure to industries across Finance and business, while helping him build a global perspective and an adaptable decision-making style. He later joined Highside Global Management, a $250 million hedge fund, where for nearly four years he focused on sourcing investment ideas, overseeing sector coverage, and applying a disciplined, evidence-based approach to market analysis. Over time, Anthony Qi’s career evolved from Finance toward technology and product development. As the first hire at a startup building research tools for hedge funds and investigative journalists, he contributed to every stage of product creation, from designing features and collecting data to building partnerships and engaging clients.
