THE PASSING OF DENNIS M. MAHER
as a C ouncil Member from 1996-2007, including one term as President of the C ouncil. Dennis was an active member of the Old Bridge community and could often be found on the sidelines of all his children and grandchildren’s sports teams, dance recitals, cheerleading competitions, and more. Dennis was also a member of the Friendly Sons of The Shillelagh, Old Bridge Chapter, a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Bernadette’s Church, and a trustee for Most Holy Redeemer Church. We are excited to invite you back to the 3rd Old Bridge Township Mayor’s Health and Wellness 5K - Run for Heroes event! This 5K race will take place on April 20th, starting at the Municipal Complex and running down 516, then up Beacon Hill, past Hauser Hill Farms, and concluding at the 9/11 Memorial on the township complex. We welcome both runners and spectators to join us for this special event. After the race, par-
ticipants, and guests are encouraged to stay for the award ceremony and health and wellness fair at the new Cottrell Farms. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our runners while honoring heroes and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all. will be held on Saturday, March 30th from 12-4. It will take place at our new fields located at Mannino Park. This event was started as a small way for us to give back to the town of Old Bridge and has grown each year. Our first year, we had around 6,000 eggs. Last year, we had 10,000 eggs. This year we intend to double that amount! In addition to the egg hunt, we will also have face painting, games and crafts, a live DJ and the opportunity to meet the bunny himself.
SWSBL Opening Day on April 6th and All-Star Day on May 18th. We are also hosting our first MLB sponsored Pitch, Hit, & Run competition on June 29th which is open to children from all over, not just Old Bridge. Other events include our fall festival, Movie Night, come watch the MLB HR derby down at the fields on the big screen, and our first ever Wrestling event where kids will get the chance to watch live wrestling up close.
