LOCAL CHAMBER CELEBRATES 55TH YEAR AT ANNUAL MAC AWARDS & BOARD INSTALLATION DINNER
The Matawan-Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce held its 5th Annual MAC Awards and Board Installation Dinner to recognize extraordinary individuals and businesses that have made an impact on others, the Chamber, and/or the community.

“It’s the Chamber’s 55th year and it has grown to nearly 200 members today! Its success is due in part to our willingness to help each other by giving advice, guidance, and support.”
In honor of the anniversary, Assemblyman Clifton sent a special proclamation, a slide show of past Chamber projects, events, and activities was shown, and member businesses and organizations serving the community for 50 plus years were given special recognition certificates. Several members were acknowledged too, for achieving a Legacy membership level of 10 or more years in MACOC. Board of Director installations of three members were conducted by Matawan Mayor Joe Altomonte and Aberdeen Mayor Fred Tagliarini, and certificates of appreciation were given to two departing members acknowledging their service and contributions.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Chamber MAC Awards to six distinguished individuals and businesses. The recipients were:
Erika Boyer, Edward Jones –Chamber Member of the Year; Alcoeur Gardens, Aberdeen –Chamber Business of the Year; VoiceNEXT – Excellence in
Community Service; OceanFirst Matawan – Chamber President’s Special Recognition.
ProFysio Physical Therapy received Spirit of Aberdeen with a proclamation from Mayor Tagliarini. Mayor Altomonte presented Spirit of Matawan and a proclamation to Jay LoBosco. Individual citations were also given to MAC Award recipients during a presentation from Assemblywoman Vickie Flynn.
The night ended with our thank you to several businesses for donating door prizes, and gratitude to our sponsors whose generosity helped make the evening possible: Alcoeur Gardens, Spring Hills Matawan, ProFysio Physical Therapy, McDonald’s Aberdeen, and Calta Taxes & Financial Services.
