In regards to oxygen, oxygen could alleviate your symptoms of breathlessness and fatigue. Unfortunately, you cannot use it if you smoke because it's too dangerous. Once you quit smoking, you can seek this treatment

My husband Derrick was a smoker, too. It killed him. Lung cancer got him about three years back. It took him quick, at least, but it's not a pretty way to go. (Clarified to: if my husband died from smoking)

I think I'm up to date on all of my shots . . . but I'm not really sure. I don't really keep up with them. I figured at my age I don't need any more vaccines. There are vaccines that are recommended for your age group like annual flu shots and boosters if needed.

I've never had a vaccine for pneumonia. I didn't know they make those.
Yes, pneumococcal vaccine helps prevent pneumococcal disease. It protects againts numerous types of pneumococcal bacteria that most commonly cause serious infections. It can also help prevent ear infections and pneumonia cause by these bacteria. We recommended Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine or PCV13 for people 2 years or older with certain medical conditions such chronic lung disease including COPD.

I started smoking when I was 15. I quit later when I had my daughter, but then I picked up the habit again in my early 30s. (Clarified to: when I first tried a cigarette)
how many packs do you smoke a day?

Typically I smoke between three and five cigarettes a day. It's been that way for the last four months. Ever since I relapsed. Smoking makes my breathing worse, so . . . I try to hold off as long as I can between cigarettes. It is important that you quit smoking as soon as possible to get some relief from your COPD symptoms. Smoking is putting your health in danger and making your symptoms worse. I can provide you with community and national cessation programs that can help while you are quitting.
