INTRODUCTION People

Our people are some of the best researchers, scientists and engineers in the world and have been recognised as such with numerous national and international prizes, awards and medals.

Over the last 10 years, several of our staff have been nominated for Euerka Prizes, Australia’s top science honour, with Prof Lyndon Edwards and Michael Saleh awarded the prize in 2013 for their role in the Armour Applications Program which is helping to keep Australian troops safe. Prof John Boldeman AO was recognised several times including as a recipient of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science (ANZAAS) Medal, the Clunies Ross Lifetime Achievement Award, and an Order of Australia.

Another long serving staff member, Dr Margaret Elcombe was recognised internationally with the 18th Women in Nuclear Global Award. The honour recognised her significant contribution to leadership, education, mentoring and communication in applications of nuclear science and technology.
