spotlight christian wheelock, pa-c

Happy (late) National PA Week!

To celebrate, take a moment to get to know Christian Wheelock, a longtime CU Vascular faculty member and friendly face around Anschutz campus.

Christian just celebrated seven years here with us at CU Vascular!

Prior to joining CU, Christian was at Parkview Medical Center and in New York practicing cardiothoracic surgery. In Vascular practice, one of Christian’s favorite procedures is a “good carotid endarterectomy - very satisfying,” he says.

Outside of work, Christian describes himself as an “omnivore” that loves French food but will devour a bowl of potato chips given the chance!

As a child, Christian fell in love with cycling By 14, he was adventuring into nearby towns He says it gives him an opportunity to meditate, representing a special form of freedom It makes sense that the best way to live, he says, is outdoors.

“When I’m not cycling, I’m hiking, skiing, playing soccer with my family, or sitting outside with a beverage,” he says.

It also follows that Christian doesn’t follow typical American sports, instead enjoying European soccer (football) and, naturally, cycling
