From July 14th to 18th, AMDI dedicated an entire week to encouraging staff to make healthier lifestyle choices. From health talks to friendly department challenges, the week was filled with engaging and educational activities coordinated by HSSEQ Coordinator, Reana Anderson.

On July 16th and 17th, health professionals from the Ministry of Health and Courts Optical offered on-site blood testing, eye examinations, and more.

Additionally, brands such as Bragg, Meta Mucil, Simple, and Bumble Bee were on hand to showcase their range of healthy products.

AMDI takes pride in actively participating in every holiday celebration. Casual attire for each occasion is essential, as it promotes a sense of unity among the staff and cultivates a shared culture.
The Emancipation celebrations continued on August 8, where teams showcased their culinary talents during the annual Chief Internal Cook-Up Competition.

One word perfectly describes this year’s Cook-Up CompetitionAMAZING! Teams truly showed up and showed out. With spirited participation from Guyana Breweries Inc., ANSA Building Solutions, and nine other teams from AMDI, it was a true clash of culinary giants. But at the end of the day, only one winner emerged in each category.

Alongside the mouthwatering dishes prepared by all the teams, there were lively dancing and drumming. This delightful combination created the true feeling of emancipation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated judges for taking time from their busy schedules to participate and evaluate the competition.

For Oneca Benjamin, taking hold of the opportunity provided by AMDI through the Accelerate Programme was an easy decision. She encourages others to embrace the programme, even if it means making a few sacrifices along the way.

“Put your mind to it and time would never matter. Put your best foot forward and make the best of it, time should not stop you,” she said.
When asked what inspired her to enroll, her answer was simple yet powerful:
“It gives you the opportunity to meet your educational goals at no cost to you, and also a chance to move up in the company.”
So far, Oneca describes the programme as an “interesting” experience, one she believes is worth every effort. She strongly encourages colleagues who need to complete their CSEC Mathematics to take the leap and sign up without hesitation.
Her story serves as a reminder that growth begins the moment you decide to start, and with opportunities like this, the possibilities are endless.

The Accelerate Programme was designed to give staff the chance to develop both academic and practical skills. It began with CSEC Mathematics and will soon expand to include other CSEC subjects, scholarships for diplomas, degrees, and practical training in areas such as forklift operation and driving, all free of cost to employees.

The AMDI Spotlight Award was established to honor employees for their hard work and commitment. This recognition occurs in two parts: employees can receive immediate acknowledgment for a specific task they've completed, or they may be selected as Employee of the Month by their supervisor or manager.

To engage the staff, a logo competition was held, and Kenesha Croker emerged as the winner. This design perfectly aligns with the vision of the Spotlight Award.
The Employee Spotlight logo embodies the spirit of excellence that drives our team forward and is a strong visual depiction of the purpose of the Spotlight award
The vibrant design of the logo reflects our seven core values. The base is gold, transitioning into a deep blue hourglassshaped body that flares out at the top. Deep blue conveys trust and professionalism while gold signifies prestige and success. Resting on this is our ANSA McAL Emblem.
Awardees will receive:
