DIY Business-in-a-Box
DragonFly is a professionally monitored security system that delivers police response to video-verified alarms. The goal of DragonFly is to target Millennials and bring them into the ecosystem of the traditional alarm dealer – and upselling them to a professionally installed alarm system when they become more affluent and have families and homes.
DragonFly is not trying to be a full alarm system; the goal is to deliver better security to Millennials than the selfmonitored IP cameras they typically purchase on Amazon or at Best Buy. DragonFly is DIY self-installed but is always professionally monitored.
The business model is designed so that the dealer makes RMR. The dealer promotes their DragonFly website provided by the DragonFly Provider (the central station), the consumer visits the site and uses the e-commerce platform to buy their DragonFly kit. The kit is shipped directly to the consumer so the dealer never has to touch or finance inventory. The consumer uses the DragonFly app on their smartphone to install the system (DragonFly provides all the tech support). The consumer buys the monitoring plan and pays the DragonFly Provider. The provider pays the dealer RMR for each customer.
DragonFly allows consumers to combine their outdoor wireless cameras and create a Virtual Neighborhood Security System to protect their own local community.

Security Response Center has expanded its services even more by offering AutoText communication. The AutoText feature automatically provides text notifications to specified mobile devices. Utilizing script messages, AutoText can initiate contact and receive responses via SMS on any phone or tablet device connected to the Internet. Through this functionality, responsible parties can acknowledge receipt, identify responsibility, and even perform such actions as extend a late-to-close and cancel an alarm. SRC is pleased to offer this new communication tool to its customers.
This new method reaches customers by using automation that simply sends them a text to their device. They can press 1 – acknowledge and automation simply cancels the alarm, noting acknowledged. They can press 2 – would like to be contacted – this then prompts SRC Operator’s attention with a note in automation, advising them that the customer has requested a call. If they do not take the above actions within a period of time specified by the Dealer, the automation prompts the alarm up to the Operator’s attention. This new technology provides even more specified and reliable services to valued SRC customers.
