Publisher’s Note What I am most excited about in this issue is it highlights, promotes and supports women in leadership.

Women in position of power is common in today’s world. We all have a passion inside of us. Whether it be dreaming of becoming the boss or sitting behind a desk as a receptionist. We should embrace our fears, nurture our dreams and work hard to achieve our goals.

While some believe that men inherently make better bosses, others believe that women are better at management, socializing, taking charge, or have the ability to take the initiative when it comes to communicating clearly. Some feel that women will break working under high pressure dealing with emotional situations when it comes to managing other genders. Statistics show that women bosses are more prevalent than ever. It is a fact that; some employees both male and female resent feedback or leadership from female bosses.

Chris Eggleston had an unforgettable moment at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards; meeting some of Hollywood’s hottest celebs while socializing, styling and profiling at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards; with the beautiful and talented Essence Atkins, Actress and Model best known for her roles on television comedies and sitcoms. Eggleston also hooked up that same night enjoying a star-studded moment with Actor, Winston Duke, known for his role of M’Baku in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring with Lead Actor role in Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War; followed by Avengers: Endgame.

DREAMS MADE REAL KYLE HASSEL

Kyle Hassell is an actor who has studied his craft through the Runway and Commercial Print Modeling in Memphis, TN. The Improv Acting and Scene Study at John Casablancas Institute and AJE Dreamland Productions in Memphis, TN . Kyle also studied Commercial and Improv Acting at the Star Movement in Orlando, FL. Kyle accomplishments include a scene with Jason Patrick in an independent film called Ultra that was shown at the International Film Festival and also, he received SAG points for this film. Kyle was an instant success with his internet radio broadcast show “Kyle’s Entertainment Flix Pix” which was broadcasted weekly on the Emily Pearls Show. Kyle also known for his cameo roles in Crooked Games, Beyond the Glass, Closure, the newly released Brian Banks Movie and Bluff City Law. Kyle’s most rewarding accomplishment was obtaining a black belt in Taekwondo. Some of his hobbies include meeting actors and actresses at Comic Con conventions, attending live wrestling events and meeting the stars of the shows. Kyle is very health conscious and maintains a good weekly exercise regimen. Kyle is also an avid movie collector; he has a passion for American muscle cars including his own Dodge Challenger.

Kyle is always encouraging others to keep dreaming and never every give up on their dreams.

Who is Lady Bell?

Tribel Nickerson, born and raised in Portsmouth VA, now residing in Atlanta, Georgia, a phenomenal woman; graduated with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. I own a travel business, “Booked by Bell” I book travel for artists and celebrities. I am a publicist, I help clients secure media coverage on radio, television and the internet. When given a project, I run with it and treat it as if it’s mine, stopping at nothing short of excellence. I am an event planner, I coordinate networking events, mixers and parties to help make connections for businesses and personal advancements. I am an author, photographer, radio on air personality and a motivational speaker.

Who is your greatest Inspiration?

“My mother and siblings. When I lost my mother, I lost my best friend. Yet, all of the values she instilled in me has kept me afloat on this journey.”

What is your passion?

Helping women, “That’s my passion” … Women do so much, but are rarely recognized. So; no matter what you are going through, don’t give up; Just keep pushing.

Why are you so involved in giving back and helping others?

Because I have a huge heart and I’m compassionate about helping others. The humanitarian in me drives me to give all that I can to support others. I’m lovingly known as the human connector. If

helping hurts, I’ll rather hurt than not help. I know that in helping others I will reap a reward.

Knowing that I helped someone makes me happy, “I do something good for someone every single day.”

What is your greatest accomplishment?

My great accomplishment is L.E.A.D, a women’s empowerment organization, where I humbly serve as the CEO. What are you most proud of?

I have a love for many things; but family is extremely important to me. I am mother of two (2); and have cherished every moment of their lives from infancy to adulthood.

How do you handle challenges?

That question can be summed up in one-word, PRAYER; my faith keeps me going. Although I have achieved various levels of success over the years, I can’t hide the fact that there have been moments of heartache and pain, both in business and in my personal life. Whether it’s dealing with business partners falling short of promises or having to flee an abusive relationship.

What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy cooking, baking, shopping, playing my base guitar and reading.

I’m not one of those people,” she said. “There are people going through what I’ve been through with a smile on their face. But you got to remove the mask. It’s all got to go. Healing is at the end of the tunnel. You got to heal, you got to pray, and you got to let it go.”

Helping Others “Making a Difference” From an early age when she watched her mother help hundreds of people, Bell Nickerson knew that she also had the gift to make a difference in the lives of others. Before her mother passed away in 2016, she got to witness Bell follow in her footsteps. From mentoring young girls to hosting workshops and seminars to empower women, the divorced mother of two adult children maintains an active lifestyle of service She and one of her business partners, Tina Bridges, created the Women of Honor Awards, where they recognize women for having impacts in various areas of including in business, the faith community, entertainment and more. They want to encourage these women to continue to touch the lives of others as well as inspire others to join them in making a difference.

The event Toast Master, Leon Griffin and Toast Mistress, Catherine Doggett Hernandez, 1984 Memphis Cotton Makers’ Jubilee Queen played a major role in the celebration. Mr. Clyde Venson, Chairman of the MCMJ, President, Lorenzo Caldwell, his dedicated and committed board members was standing proudly with deep appreciation at the royal historical celebration.

Royalty 2019 Crowned King, Krish A. Taylor – Employed with Chuck Hutton Toyota as an Automobile Sales and Lease Representative. Taylor said this has been an exciting mind-blowing experience, compared it to a birthday party that never ends. Krish very humbly admitted; he never thought this could happen to him, walking closely in his father’s footsteps making history as Cotton Makers’ Jubilee King. Taylor said he want to remain humble because humility is top on his daily walk in life.

Royalty 2019 Crowned Queen, Demetrice Bolton Sanders –. Demetrice recently retired from Memphis Housing Authority, where she managed Border Towers high rise building downtown. She currently focuses on being a Real Estate investor where she owns properties throughout the city of Memphis.

Demetrice said; this was a dream come true for her to become the reigning Queen for such a historical and elegant organization. Demetrice very beautiful, confident, ambitious, jubilant and God fearing. Demetrice believe this opportunity could not have come at a more fructuous time. Demetrice is proud to be the reigning queen and believes nothing happens before it’s time.

Melissa Harville-Lebron is the first African American woman, to solely own a Camping World Truck Series and a developmental racing team in NASCAR’s Whelen All-American Series, Division I. The multicultural racing team is the first ever to consist of two brothers from two different ethnicities and minority classes, hailing from the North East and under the age of 25. The team consist of 6 drivers of various professional licensed levels. On February 16, 2018, E2NE partnered with Copp Motorsports for “The Next Era Energy 250” at Daytona. Scott Stenzel finished an impressive 15th. Recently recognized as an “Ebony Power 100 Honoree of 2018” & a Black Enterprise “Top Story of 2018”.

Melissa Harville-Lebron, the founder and CEO of W.M. Stone Enterprises, Inc. A multifarious entertainment conglomeration that is the home to Coutrá Music Group, a boutique music label. CMG’s eclectic roster at one time included a female racecar driver with a phenomenal voice.

The Carrie Yarnall Story Mrs. North American Globe 2019 Born and raised in the rolling hills of West Virginia, Carrie Yarnall is a successful pageant queen who has been involved in the pageant industry for over 15 years. From pageant judge to international titleholder, she is an expert when it comes to all things glitz and glam.

In her professional life, as a licensed veterinary technician, she swaps her glittering gowns and heels for scrubs and a stethoscope. Carrie’s most notable accomplishment throughout her career stems from the many years spent working as a civilian veterinary technician at the Dover Air Force Base Veterinary Treatment Facility, where she cared for the prestigious United States Military Working Dogs. Her passion for animals also led her to become a volunteer foster for local animal rescue organizations, and she is currently partnered with the Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. With the AWSJC, she has assisted with countless fundraisers and adoption events and has even sponsored the adoption fees for some of the facility’s adoptable pets.

Carrie, her husband James, and their five-year-old daughter Brinley have opened their home and their hearts to three dogs (one who is a recent cancer survivor and amputee), six cats, and three new kittens recently rescued from the side of the road. To help promote her platform of animal rescue and adoption, Carrie made the decision to dive into the world of pageantry during her senior year of high school. Since then, she has competed in many local, state, national, and even international pageants. Some of her state titles include Mrs. Delaware United States 2010, Miss Delaware Galaxy 2012, Mrs. West Virginia United States 2018, and Mrs. West Virginia Globe 2019. She was a top 5 finalist at the Miss Galaxy international pageant and a top 15 finalist at Mrs. United States. She most recently competed in Palm Springs, California where she placed first runner-up to the title of Mrs. USofA Globe and won the title of Mrs. North America Globe 2019.

During her reign as Mrs. North America Globe 2019, Carrie will continue advocating for animal rescue and adoption, while also working as an official spokeswoman for the Women In Need Foundation (a non-profit outreach that specializes in abuse recovery). This November, she will represent the North America continent as she competes in Shenzhen, China for the ultimate world title of Mrs. Globe 2019.

Performing on stage was Chingy, RB/Hip Hop Recording Artist, Record Producer and Actor, Raz B, American Singer, Producer/Actor and Keesha Danielle, Hip Hop/RB Artist introducing her number one single “Heels” and Dance For Love. Raz B and his special guest professional dancer, actress, and producer Badd Girl Ladia Yates danced like a dancing machine. Keesha Danielle Heel Rockers, “The Dancing Rocketts” was rocking those heels in their sexy little black glitzy glamour dresses.

HIP HOP/RB INDIE ARTIST, KEESHA DANIELLE Growing up around music has made her what she is today, Hip Hop/RB Indie artist Keesha Danielle, born and raised in Cleaborn Homes projects in South Memphis. A young talented female with dreams of becoming a star. In her teen years, she moved with her mother out East where she found a niche in becoming active in music.

Over the years, she has joined various groups such as One In the Chamber from North Carolina, 3 Sides, 21st Family, I Sign Myself, Royal Heir from Ohio, and UREG. During the time with the groups, she had open up performances for Project Pat, Tank, Reverie and more. Her biggest challenge, she auditioned in Hollywood, California as a solo rap artist. She performed a song that showed her vocal and rap skills. Judges loved her as a singer more than a rapper. They explained to her that it’s not that you can’t rap but you have a nice voice you should try singing. She returned to Memphis with a mind to do something different…. So; you can say the rest was history?

Few weeks later, she was introduced to Archie Mitchell (producer/vocal trainer) and Chris (music engineer). She added her continued beat maker, Cohaven with them and they all went to work to make a great song. As of today, Keesha Danielle is still performing, taking exciting challenges to increase her chances and getting her music heard under Brown and Blue Productions.

Keesha Danielle came out with her new single “Heels”. The song is defined as a rap and singing duo where she gives you both of her talents. She states the song is female anthem. The Little Black Dress Event

Dress for Success Memphis celebrated two decades of success at its 20th anniversary sensational “Little Black Dress Event” at the newly renovated luxurious Hilton East Hotel in Memphis, TN. Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, Dress for Success Memphis Impact Ambassador honored everyone with her presence and words of encouragement.

The Little Black Dress Event was a fun evening where women showcased their beautiful and stylish little black dresses and fancy shoes in all colors. Memphis Board of Directors, donors, supporters, partners, families and friends enjoyed host, Comedienne Mzzz Kecia, music by Freelance Vocalist, Wyndie Oh! and DJ AO. The event was celebrated with a formal dinner, wine, hors d’oeuvres, as well as a silent auction of wonderful items donated from local businesses to benefit Dress for Success Memphis.

Dress for Success Memphis is a non-profit organization that provides interview and work appropriate attire, confidence boosts and career development to low income women transitioning into the workplace. The mission of Dress for Success Memphis is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
