Anne’s Story Designer & Founder

Anne has always loved beautiful things, her favorite being antique jewelry. In the early 1980’s, after spending many years learning about and collecting antique jewelry, she realized that there was a need for affordable, vintage inspired styles. Wearing these vintage designs made her feel beautiful, and she wanted other women to feel beautiful too!

Anne’s mother, Sally, was a millinery designer during the 1920’s. Sally saw how captivated her little girl Anne was with beautiful jewelry. So after Anne’s career in Interior Design, Sally wasn’t surprised when her daughter asked her where she should go to fnd beads and tools to design her own jewelry. She told her to go to the bead houses on 37th Street in NYC. That’s where Anne picked up a pair of rosary pliers... that she instinctively knew how to use. That day she bought her frst glass beads, chain and fndings, and went to her Long Island home and crafted a dozen pieces on her dining room table. Anne’s sister, Ilene, sold those pieces in her Cedarhurst, NY boutique in just 2 days!... and Anne found herself in the middle of the fashion jewelry industry.

Today, Anne Koplik jewelry collections are proudly designed and handcrafted in their Brewster, NY studio. Anne and her team of skilled American artisans handcraft vintage inspired jewelry with love as they make each and every piece hoping that it will be a “conversation piece” as well as become the heirlooms of tomorrow, passed from mother to daughter, from generation to generation.Each piece of jewelry is created for women who want to experience beautiful antique-inspired designs and have them for their own, at an attainable price.

One of Anne’s greatest joys is that she works side by side with both of her daughters Jill and Kara. Together they oversee all aspects of the business. Her grandchildren often stop in the studio to help make jewelry, give their opinions or just say hello to their grandma (and their moms!) Anne loves being at the studio where she’s surrounded with pictures of her beloved golden retrievers and her purple foors. Purple has always been one of Anne’s favorite colors.

Our Jewelry Where You Can Spot AKD

You never know where you might fnd some AKD sparkle! With over 400 new styles each year, Anne’s jewelry can be spotted everywhere from the grocery store to the red carpet… versatile for so many occasions!

Carried by many moderate to higher-end boutiques, historical and art museum shops, galleries, apparel stores, gift stores, gift shops, catalogs, etc..., Anne’s jewelry is also used by stylists, infuencers, fashion bloggers, and worn by many of Hollywood’s elite.

We are honored to be carried in The Smithsonian (in The American History Museum, The Castle and The Museum of Natural History and Catalog), the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Colonial WIlliamsburg Museum, Key West Butterfy Conservatory, National Wildlife Federation Catalog, Signals Catalog, etc... AKD has been seen at The American Music Awards, Daytime Emmy Awards, Tony Awards, The Home and Family Network, Entertainment Tonight, and The Insider. Editorial coverage has included magazines such as InStyle, Lucky, Modern Bride, Good Housekeeping, and Women’s Wear Daily.

Fun Fact: Anne Koplik has been the exclusive provider of jewelry for Dancing with the Stars since Season 5.

Earrings

Earring wires are antiqued solid brass or silver plated brass. Posts are surgical steel. Most earrings have both a standard wire (lever back) and an option for a post or clip-on, both of which are made with brilliant crystals. There is an additional $7.00 charge to convert to post or clip-on. Please specify leverback, post or clip when placing your order as well as your earring card choice: lip, no-lip or neither.

Necklaces

All necklaces are adjustable from 16-18” long unless otherwise noted. All necklaces can come with a hangtag. Please specify if you would like a hang tag when you place your order.

Bracelets

Our bracelets can come with a hang tag. Please specify if you would like a hang tag when you place your order.

Pins

Our pins can come with a pin card. Please specify if you would like pin cards when you place your order.

Our Quality Statement

We pride ourselves on handcrafting our jewelry with time-tested techniques that no foreign assembly line or machine can match. Our work endures because we use only the fnest materials; brilliant crystals, freshwater pearls, hand mixed and hand applied enamels, antique glass beads, reproduction glass stones, Mother of Pearl, etc. Chains and clasps are solid brass. Most importantly, all fndings are lead/nickel/cadmium-free.

Care Instructions

Handle with care as each unique design is delicately handcrafted. Brass will naturally darken with age. To brighten, use any non abrasive brass cleaner. Avoid direct contact with fragrances and body lotions as they may discolor the metals. To prolong the life and luster of each piece, avoid bathing, swimming and sleeping in our jewelry.

We recommend Cape Cod Polishing Cloths! (2 cloths per packet)= $7.50
