The Murphy Chamber of Commerce strives to connect our residents to the business community. Our Mission is to promote and strengthen business relationships, offer solutions for their needs and create the best community in which to work, live and grow a business. “As the Chair of the Board of Directors, I often get asked: What is the purpose of the Murphy Chamber of Commerce? My response is a simple one - we exist to support our local businesses, city, and residents. There are lots of
ways to be involved and impact our community, and it starts by supporting local businesses that are members of the Murphy Chamber.”
Additionally, our chamber offers some unique programs such as our Youthpreneur Academy, U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award, as well as our 501c3 affiliate – Murphy Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Foundation, which awards H.S. seniors living in Murphy, each year.

Members of the Murphy Chamber of Commerce are mostly small business owners and entrepreneurs.We have a soft spot for young people who have a business idea and an entrepreneurial spirit.The MCC Young Entrepreneur program is born from our member’s desire to support young people who have a future as owners of their own businesses. Starting with our interest in supporting young entrepreneurs at local events, this program seeks to explore different ways to educate, mentor and launch as many Murphy young entrepreneurs as we can.
YOUTHPRENEUR CLUB MEMBERSHIP
The chamber offers club membership to connect young aspiring leaders to entrepreneurship opportunities, to learn valuable skills, solve problems, and courageously execute new ideas. Members participate in "Idea Labs" where they work with business and government leaders to launch their own business or community improvement project.
SUMMER CAMPS
Annual summer camps are offered in July to help aspiring entrepreneurs (ages 8-16) explore their natural leadership skills using the Clifton strengths test, while a second option helps kids write and understand the necessary steps to carry out their first business plan.

100% of the program is carried out by community volunteers who care deeply about investing in our community and mentoring our future leaders. As an advocate, we are only asking for your help by simply spreading the word within your network. Additionally, sponsorship opportunities are available.
HELP KIDS GET CONNECTED
Encourage kids to join as a member. As a member, aspiring leaders are connected to entrepreneurship and community opportunities to learn new skills, interact with government and business leaders, participate in summer camps, and other city sponsored activities. Local chamber members sponsor booths for young entrepreneurs to sell their products and services at local community events such as the Murphy Maize Days and/or Murphy Spring Fever. Kids have the option to enroll in a summer camp to learn how to turn their idea into a business booth, while setting a profitable goal and outlining effective ways to run it.

The Murphy Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Foundation was founded as a 501 (c) (3) NonProfit Corporation in 2006. Our mission is to award graduating Murphy resident seniors scholarship monies to further their education, and to date has awarded $151,200 to 96 Murphy students. In 2024, eight awards of $1,700 were open to all Murphy resident students who graduated the end of the 2023-24 school year, including CTE (Career and Technical Education) students, home-school and private school students, along with our PISD and WISD college bound Murphy resident seniors.
