JAKE FEWX TUBA
Tubist Jake Fewx is a performer and educator hailing from Sherwood, Oregon. Currently based in the Washington D.C. area, Jake has been a member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra since 2019. He has received degrees from the University of Oregon and the Yale School of Music studying under JáTtik Clark, Michael Grose, and Carol Jantsch.
Jake’s music career has brought him around the country to perform in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He has collaborated with renowned groups such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, National Philharmonic, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Lancaster Symphony, Eugene Symphony, The Orchestra Now, Astoria Music Festival Orchestra, and Puerto Rico Summer Music Festival Orchestra, as well as holding a fellowship with Orchestra Next during the 2015-16 season. Additionally, Jake is an acting member of The Brass Project, a brass sextet specializing in curating and commissioning new chamber music for brass.
An accomplished soloist, Jake Fewx has earned awards and high praise for his playing. Most notably, he was awarded first prize in the 2018 Leonard Falcone International Tuba Artist Solo Competition. Earlier that same year, Jake was selected as one of the winners of the Yale Woolsey Hall Concerto Competition (the first tubist to receive the honor), performing as a soloist with the Yale Philharmonia the following season. In his free time, Jake enjoys reading, running, playing video games, and seeking out good food.

MICHAEL BOUDEWYNS ACTOR
Michael is excited to be back with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra for a fourth season. He made his ASO debut in 2010.
In 2005, Michael and his wife Sara Valentine co-founded ReallyInventiveStuff.com, a production company that creates delightful orchestra performances for young audiences and families.
In the 2022-23 season, Really Inventive Stuff also returned to the Philadelphia Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Princeton Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony in C.
Along with orchestra performances, Michael is the host of a new YouTube series celebrating noteworthy people and their remarkable achievements: Taphotopia.com.
Michael lives in Maine, and has two cats named Pippy and Prudence.
