For more than 78 years, the Annapolis Alumnae Chapter has proudly served the residents of Annapolis and greater Anne Arundel County through programs and initiatives designed to educate, empower, and uplift our community. Among our most treasured commitments are our youth programs: Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, and EMBODI. For more than 40 years, these programs have helped young women and men develop academic excellence, leadership skills, confidence, cultural awareness, and a commitment to community service. Each year, our Chapter hosts a signature event to help sustain this important work, and we could not be more excited to share this year’s celebration with you. Your presence and support allow us to continue providing meaningful educational, cultural, social, and developmental opportunities for the youth we serve. Tonight, we also have the tremendous privilege of recognizing our 2026 Yeoman’s Torch Awardees, extraordinary individuals whose leadership, service, and commitment have made a meaningful and lasting impact within our community. They remind us that some of the most powerful change happens when people simply make the decision to show up, serve others, and use their gifts to make their community better. We are honored to shine a welldeserved light on them this evening. To our guests, sponsors, community partners, friends, family, and supporters, thank you. Whether this is your first time joining us or you have supported the Annapolis Alumnae Chapter for many years, please know that your presence matters. This evening would not be possible without you. So tonight, we invite you to step behind the mask, embrace the spirit and splendor of the Harlem Renaissance, enjoy the fellowship and festivities, and most importantly, celebrate the incredible power of service, community, and purpose. Welcome to Masquerade: A Harlem Nights Renaissance. We are thrilled that you are here, and we hope you enjoy an unforgettable evening! With sincere appreciation,
Deirdre Peters Deirdre Peters President Annapolis Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated
