This final year collection accompanies a study on the paradigm of sex and violence throughout classic cinema; and, the relative degrees of femininity. Allow your imagination to roam along themes of curiosity, temptation, subversion, crimes of passion, corruption, distortion… Classic cinema has, since the beginning, glorified patterns surrounding violence, enabling a rather seductive nature and ambience. This is where her research begins.

Yuchen Jessie Jiang has interests in couture womenswear and virtual fashion, and hopes to integrate in her American Chinese cultural background, along with her passions in graphic design, photography, and fine art. Her design philosophy is to push people to accept themselves in whatever form that means to them. Through her clothing, she is taking the steps to find and create her own identity, free from societal standards and expectations.
