JOURNEY This project challenged us to create anything on a site we

chose. I worked with Carrie and Alexis to create a ladder showing

our uphill climb to get to where we are today. The cards represent who got us to Jefferson and the rope shows 3 different strings coming into one.

AF1 This shoe project challenged us to create several versions of the same shoe using cardboard in different ways. The last version was made using duct tape. We learned how cardboard is very diverse and how other materials can be used for the same thing. We also learned how to manage our time when doing these projects.

PATTERN This project was to create a stamp that we could use with the ink that created the top board. This was then translated using color to see what else

was possible. The third board down was a way to combine what we learned from the first two steps

and create folds in a paper that represent your stamp. This taught me how to create pattern and

be very diligent.

THE X’S This project challenged me to create a 3d model from a 2d textile. My textile created x’s that I wanted to focus on for my

model. This made me think a lot about how to transfer everyday

things into 3d. This was my first time doing an axonometric of

something I made other than a cube.

FAIR WEATHER This is the painting I chose for my next project. It is called Fair Weather and was painted by Man Ray. I did several diagrams to see what my focal

points and repetition were. After doing these, I had to overlay 5 diagrams to create one drawing.

This was challenging to not make it so literal and make it abstract. I turned things into basic shapes

when making those diagrams.

BAS RELIEF & SITE

I used my painting from the previous page to create a bas relief that was bent, cut and folded. I then used my 4” by 4” viewfinder to focus on one

part of my bas relief. This was then the inspiration for my site model. This site was not my final one

but was the first iteration to see what else I can do with it.

DESPINA My city Despina talks about two different parts. One person sees the city as a camel and the other sees a vessel. This inspired me to create an embassy of space that had

two parts but came together as one. My person can easily use the balcony to look

over the city and see both sides but is still one. As he moves around the space, he

feels dark on one side and open and airy in the other with higher ceilings. This makes

the two spaces completely different.

Exploded Axon

DESPINA These drawings challenged my

thinking after I created my model. It was my first time

doing an exploded axon. Once pinned on the wall the axon

read very well. The other drawings were simpler to do

because they are two dimensional.
