Balance in the city is important, creating this comes from designing sequential spatial nodes of experience. Spaces where one is able to gather, smell, hear, feel, taste, and experience presence amidst a crossroads of daily commutes.

Sens Par Espace De Refuge program: refugee housing site: København, Amager with: Rune Veile dates: October-December 2016 at: Danish Institute for Study Abroad

Site

...Ce qui sera dit ici d’essentiel, c’est que la clef de l’émotion esthétique est une fonction spatiale... -Le Corbusier [What will be said here is essential, the key of aesthetic emotion is spatial function]

Espace de regfuge serves to grow its inhabitants while itself grows in solidifying as a place of community and peace. Where life perspectives are rooted in time perspectives, and identities which come from temporality. The condition of relations of entities in our world is only because of the temporalising activity of human awareness. This space of refuge creates an atmosphere where its inhabitants may gain identity, embed a life in the spirit of place, and orient themselves with the world. allows the sense of permanence to be achieved. The ultimate ambition is to create meaning, direction, and permanence within the unifying order of the city which is ultimatley temporal.

Site

Creating an atmosphere of community and place, where the site is a part of the building as the building is a part of the site. The life created within the space is embodied by a movement through matierality and light. Enclosure and closure, heavy and soft, ambiguous spaces of inside and out.

Bridged City program: mix use development site: Lawrence, KS with: Hugo Sheward dates: Feburary-May 2016 at: University of Kansas School of Architecture

Bridging the nature of the organisms into the urban context happens by intertwining everyday systems through nodes of human experience. The intention is to create a sustainable community, which means reshaping the productive logic by integrating work, live, and leisure so that they become one. The organic interaction of people and things gives meaning and value to the city. Commercial Residential Civic/Public
